Just spent 4 days at the point (Stayed at LHP) and had a great time. Some good things, some bad.....here are my thoughts.
Fast food stands - Glad they finally got some menu boards on the outside of the stands with prices, this should help the lines move a little better come summer. But what's with all of the outsourcing? Chick-Fil-A, Famous Dave's, TGI Fridays, Subway, Panda Express, Johnny Rockets......is this an Amusement Park or the Food Court at the local mall? And the prices are ridiculous!!! It was actually cheaper to go into the Game Day Grill and eat than most of the fast food stands! And the quality of the Cedar Point stands has gone down hill! The french fries, on all four days, were soggy and luke warm! Not the famous hot and crispy fries one has come to expect at Cedar Point. If your going to outsource everything else, bring back the Berardi family to run the Fry stands! It was nice to be able to enjoy a beer or soda in line, but quite frankly, there were people abusing this new policy. A few people seemed like they were a little over the edge in the drinking department. Not sure how this will pan out in the heat of the summer when the lines are over an hour long?
Rides - On Tuesday there were multiple breakdowns. By Wednesday pretty much everything was running except MaXair. The ride ops did seem very frustrated with the new seat belts, and there was still orange tape on multiple cars indicating that the new seat belts were not working.
Park Employees seemed overly friendly this year. Many "How is your day going?" "Are you having a fun time?" "What did you ride today?" Good Morning/evening etc. A very nice improvement!
Time Share people between Magnum and Witches Wheel. THEY NEED TO GO AND THE SOONER THE BETTER! These people do not take no for an answer! Not sure why they are there, but I didn't go to Cedar Point to buy a time share or to be harrassed! Quite frankly, they were obnoxious, and need lessons on manners!
Overall...
The Good:
The employees - Great service, Great attitude, very friendly
LHP- Always a great place to stay! (Miss ya Mr. Scott!)
The rides - Once the Maintenance Department got them running, they were great as always!
The Bay Harbor restaurant! Great as always!
The Bad:
Outsourcing of so much of the Foods department.
Seatbelts. Do we really need seatbelts on the scrambler and the Turnpike? I'm all for safety, but it seems like the lawyers may have gotten a little out of control.
The Ugly!
The time share folks in the park!
We tried polite.
We tried rude!
The only thing that seemed to work was "Look! I live in Orlando! Why in God's name would I want a time share there! I'm on vacation, LEAVE ME ALONE!"
The sad part is, they are right by the Soak City gate, so the guests who seem to be getting hassled the most are Cedar Point resort guests. In other words, guests who are spending more money that an average day guest!
I found something that works. They came up to me, my right hand and middle finger rose to the occasion and went right in the guys face. He took that hint. I didn't even look at him, just flipped him off in front of his face.
Those people need to go away. I got harassed approximately a dozen times in my 3 days.
One other thing I forgot about....the auto spiel on the train.
The music was nice, but they need to get the spiel automated! The gal on the ride from the Main Midway to Frontiertown was a mess. She had an "urban" accent. Poor thing, must have been her first day on the job. Couldn't even read the spiel (Thanks to our great education system I guess). And she was either reading the spiel wrong, or whoever wrote it needs an education.
1. The body of water on the left of the Train is not Lake Erie, it's Sandusky Bay.
2. Millennium Force is not the tallest coaster in the world. (Heck, it's not even the tallest one in the park!!!)
3. Top Thrill Dragster is not the only coaster in the world to go over 120 mph.
The train must make the trip in pretty much the same amount of time on each trip, how hard would it be to get an automated spiel?
How was it wednesday...i was supposed to go but didnt because of the weather...were the rides open most of the day?
Wednesday the weather was hit or miss, got a lot of great rides in once the rain stopped.
The rain in the am scared a lot of people away, once it cleared up it was a perfect day!
Open to close each day, few rain delays, rode the flats while it rained, and a few trips back to the cabin for lunch.......
I refuse to pay the prices they are asking for fast food!
(One exception was the French Fries, which were a disappointment!)
The fries weren't bad opening day. I actually had to wait a bit to let them cool off.
Goodbye MrScott

go to the midway market...15 bucks for all you can eat and drink.
The food there is horrible and so is the price... I'll take Famous Daves over Midway Market any day!

I ate at Midway Market once, never again! I'd leave the point completly before I subjected my body to that again!
you must have had a bad batch....every time i got there its great...now if you want to talk about bad buffets...ever been to the wings diner at Kings Island...YUCK!!!
It wasn't the food that was all that bad, it was the fly's laying eggs all over it! Steam tables not turned on, food handlers touching food with their bare hands, and not a hair net to be found! YIKES!
Disney Mike, the food was pretty bad the time that I went. The things that you said, were also very bad when I went. The employees clearly noticed the fly's and the steam tables yet did nothing about it. I was very upset.

corn4ahead - Midway Market is worse than your grammar. I've eaten there twice, it sucked both times, and I'll never go again. Glad to see some people are finally waking up to the fact that MM is a dump and should be removed from the park and dumped in the bay.
Goodbye MrScott
