I've never really had a good chance to stop inside the museum. I've never been to the park for more than one day a year, so it always feels a bit rushed. Those are some fantastic models though. Speaking of White Water Landing, that was basically my favorite ride excluding roller coasters when I was young. I was really upset when they took it out, especially when there was no instant gratification of "We're building Maverick right where White Water Landing used to be!" when they tore it down. Younger me had to admit that good things come to those who wait...
My kids were in Town Hall today and said lots of stuff was moved around. They were very impressed with the Steel Vengeance model and the guy building it was there. I didn't make it over there yet. I forgot my sunscreen so I was spending some time in the shade texting my husband about at work about retro T-shirts.
Some stats on the Model...
roughly 25' by 18' by 5' tall
1:40 scale which means every foot on the model is 40 feet on the ride (about Lego scale).
Matt is from Grosse Point, MI. He and his wife started on the model in January. 800 hours in so far. They brought the model down to CP right before opening. He will be at CP on the weekends to work on it. He said that this will be a working model and showed me some video test footage.
The General Store that was where the model is has been scattered around Frontiertown. The shelves and many items from the display are used in the retail stores as theming. The rest of the items are in storage. The coffee bean roaster and antique buggy are also in the retail stores.

I forgot to ask the model builder but the tracks look functional, does anyone know if this will be a working model?
Yes, I believe I read an earlier article that confirmed this would be a working model.
Proud to have fathered a second generation coaster enthusiast destined to keep me young at heart and riding coasters with a willing partner into my golden years!
