Tophat-tallest inversion or tallest hill?

A NORMAL TOPHAT IS INVERTED.

A NON-INVERTED TOPHAT IS NOT NORMAL.

So if a tophat usually inverts, wouldn't that make Xcelerator's tophat--which does not invert--an inverted tophat? You know, for a tophat and all....

rawr!

I like the Idea of having 2 top hats, one inverted one non-inverted. I haven't been on XCELERATOR yet, and I dunno what it's like getting the airtime, nor have I been on an Intamin looper, so I dunno what's it's like upside down. So I think that Cedar Point should give the inexperienced (I'm not inexperienced, but I'm am in this area) GP a little taste of everything.
What if the tophat did an inline twist at the top instead of just arcing, CoastaPlaya? Would that be an inverting inverted tophat? ;)

[edit: spelled CoastaPlaya "CoasterPlaya." I don't want to end up on "the list." ;) ]

It's not mean, but the logic doesn't make any sense. The first tophat was inverted. So what? Unless Premier Rides trademarked the term, it doesn't mean anything more than "overbanked turn" does. As far as I'm concerned, Xcelerator has a tophat, Freeze has an inverted tophat.

You know what people mean anyway, so why even make it an issue?

Proof of either a Xcelerator style tophat (not inverted) or additional elements!!! The curved piece of track in the front of this picture.....

...shows that it is either a piece for a normal tophat, or for part of another hill somewhere else. I will explain: Look at what look like white stripes on the the rails near the ground. This is an unpainted portion of rail where the wheel sets fit around the track. Look at Millenium next time you are in line. There is no paint where the wheels ride along the track. In this case, the red track is actually upside down in the parking lot. The only two ways to explain this type of track are 1) a normal tophat like Xcelerator or 2) another hill as part of an aditional element. I think its for the tophat personally, what do you think?

I think its for a tophat, combine that with them twisted pieces and personally I think that spells tophat but I could be wrong.

I agree. But at least this can hopefully put to rest the "inverted tophat" ideas, unless more track is on the way.
