the launch section is exactly 1000ft in length, btw 400x2 = 800, 2800-800=2000, 2000(i don't have divide key)2= 1000because don't forget the angle of the launch track, the climb starts @ 10+ ft in the air and it only drops 400 on the way down.
Are you serious? That make absolutely no sence! According to that dragster only has 2 straight lines making up the entire ride circuit of the ride, but its good to see you took the angle into account.
If we're talking actual launch track length, I would say it's slightly under 400 from starting position, all the way to the hydraulic room or rather where the catchcar stops. There's a number floating in my head at the moment and it's 375ft.
The thing you have to think about when measuring the length of a coaster is to take into account the radii of the inclines, crests, turns, etc etc. So with the incline, decline and crest of the tower, it would equal out to a little bit more than 800 ft. My guess would be closer to 975+. My rough guesses would be:
750 ft (from out of station to start of incline)
1020 ft (from incline to decline)
850 ft (from end of decline to end of brake run)
180 ft (from holding block 2 to load block 1 aka front of station)
Again, that's a rough guess.

Wow, and I thought the shrine I used to have of CP was excessive. ;) Adam, have you ever seen the movie Fever Pitch with Jimmy Fallon and Drew Barrymore? That is what your room reminds me of. lol. Except instead of the Red Socks, it is Dragster.

I see this thread going south quickly... Easy with the personal attacks. Some people are fans of sports teams, or celebrities. No need to criticize someone who is a huge fan of a coaster... especially on a coaster website. In fact, most people would find it odd that we would register on a website just to talk about an amusement park. Different strokes for different folks.

^ You are right. And I would go as far as to say that Adam is smarter than those with the athletic posters all over their rooms. Why? you may ask. Because with Adam's (and really everyone here's fascination) at least we can learn something we can use for the rest of our lives. When rooting for a team that is all there is, when rooting for a coaster you can learn the physics and mechanics behind it.
I applaud Adam and any others, because my room is painted in Scotty Cameron crowns. :)

Hoping to one day build these great machines that we affectionatly call "Coasters"
I wasn't calling out those who were joking around... I just didn't feel like anyone on this board has any right to call someone with a passion for a coaster a nerd. It may not make sense to you or even me competely, but that doesn't mean you can come on here and judge it. That's all I have to say.

Hey, if I was calling him a nerd he can call me one back. ;) Because I used to have 3 giant CP maps on my wall, which were surrounded by about 20 post cards. I had my on ride photos up there too.
Like I said, not as excessive as Adam's, but mine was still a pretty nice size shrine. :) As I moved out of my parent's house, and my fiance did not share my love of CP, they have been put into boxes. But I am sure if I still had my own room at mom's the shrine would still be there. It would probably be bigger too.
ps. I think anyone who posts on this forum is probably a bit nerdy in someone's eyes. Especially if you are a regular. ;) I know my friends think it's a bit strange, but they love me anyway. :)
