Since they used the same tech that launches aircraft off carriers, I always thought that would have been a superior theme for the original TTD. Not to mention the twists near the top make for a nice little aerial maneuver. I have great memories of the theming for the original Top Gun --> Flight Deck --> The Bat at Kings Island.

Promoter of fog.
That's what I said back in the day as well. In drag racing, you don't fly straight up at the end of the track.

Regarding “Polaris”, CF previously applied for, then abandoned, the trademark all within the span of 2019 (applied 4/30, abandoned 9/19). Here’s a screenshot of the entry from the US Patent and Trademark Office.
Not a lawyer, and I don’t play one on TV, but from what I understand, application abandonment is a pretty final decision that indicates no further desired usage by the TM holder in the foreseeable future, especially when a trademark application is electively abandoned by its holder less than 5 months after filing, as in this case. This, when coupled with Tony’s red-herring direct reference to Polaris, does not provide much support for the argument that it will be used for this ride. (Perhaps it was a possible name for KI’s 2020 coaster Orion prior to the name being locked in? I don’t know.)
Now, trademarks can be re-filed, of course, so this is not conclusive. In fact, I think it could be a stellar name (bad joke, sorry); TTD’s launch always reminded me so much of a rocket launch with the positive G’s in the pullout to the vertical, as if you’re being launched up into the sky. (On the other hand, when hearing “Polaris” I first think of a shopping center north of Columbus and an ATV manufacturer, LOL.)
You know it's not just one guy, right?

What are the chances that CP Racing has nothing to do with TTD Reimagined and is actually for something completely different?
*Wild speculation warning*
With RMC hinting around to a new 2024 coaster using two O's(Ohio), maybe they're hiding the RMC Gemini project underneath everyone's laser focus on TTD 2.0. Ya know, the only coaster there that actually races. I also remember a dueling coaster on one of the parade floats a couple years back. Perhaps these project overlapped cause of the delays due to 2020. Gemini needed big Finish signs anyway.
