Well...considering they announced they're doing it...it's ganna happen...when was the last time you saw CP spend millions on something...then turn around and say they're kidding?

Um... there was a park they once owned called GL, that comes to mind.

I believe closing the park was the original plan before acquiring the park honestly...

Hey just my opinion...

Either way it still ended badly...

Check out the Breakers Rotunda Halloweekend decorations. Walked in there last Friday night at midnight and was impressed by the detail, and the bats flying up to the 5th floor! Great job, CP

I love the decorations every year in Breakers.

fan of CP for decades, and despite living in the Orlando, FL area since 1986, I have made at least one (and more often several) trips to the Point each year.

The combination of unparalled thrill rides, the scenic natural beauty that remains in parts of the park, and, importantly, the rich history and historic feel of parts of the park offer an experience not found elsewhere, and are the reasons for my annual cross country treks from the theme park capital of the world all the way to the North Coast of Ohio.

Am I the only one that has a problem with the red and yellow window awnings placed randomly about?

I actually love those. They look much better than the blue IMHO.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

I thought the awnings were a little random, too, but maybe they'll finalize those later. I also think the blue was pretty with the white and the lake.

My concern is that it's been taken off the National Register because of past renovations but I hope they will still respect its historical decor of the main areas.

lol I totally just imagined a family walking into a room and it still being gross and old but a Cedar Point Flag in the middle of the room.

The Crystal Method is the only way to find The Winner!

If the renovations can get rid of the countless layers of skin cells and bodily fluids that have embedded themselves into the very structure of the hotel over the years, I might stay there.

As someone who stays at the Breakers 6 or 7 times each summer (I have a house down the road on CP Road, but rent out my place sometimes), I can add here that I sure hope they renovate the interior/counter area...

I don't think they are planning on doing much the integrity of what is there at all -- but they need to restucco the entire lobby area -- and they can't add air conditioning in there without redoing all the windows and entrance areas...it all needs to be modernized, including new lighting fixtures, electrics, ventilation, etc....

I think their emphasis on refurbishment at the Breakers was LONG needed...some of the interiors of the rooms in the Main and Twin sections (other than new mattresses and tv's) haven't been redone since the 60's....

I hope the rotunda and the writing room are kept in something similar to their current forms. I have often brought my work to the point with me in the summertime and have sat in the writing room with my laptop. It is truly a great atmosphere and it's mind boggling to think who else may have written in that very room over the past century and a half or so.

I'm sorry if this is a dumb question, but where is this writing room?
