TOMORROW! May 23rd

So i'm heading up to the point for the first time this season.... althought im dissapointed that its only gonna be 60-65 degrees, I'm glad its not going to be 90! Anyone else going tomorrow? Say HI if you see me (Gray Mount Union College Sweatshirt and Jeans)

Maverick steals the #1 spot, sorry MF

Hey Gainor21! I will be there tomorrow too! I will be wearing a Black sweatshirt with a frog on the left (right to your eyes) and jeans. If you go up when the park releases the public, i will be one of the people that runs to Maverick.

By the way, try to meet up at the Marina Entrance before 10 am. My group will run to Maverick with ya!

Running from the Resort Gate is much closer....

Yea but you have to take your car around cedar point to park at Soak City, which they pry wont let you since Soak City is closed.

Better chance from marina because who knows how long it will take to get around the park.

however, if we do get their early enough, we may take a shuttle to that gate.... who knows

The Soak City lot is open when the park is open. You can park there. It's much closer to get to Maverick from the Soak City/Magnum gate than it is from the marina gate.

Thanks for that info then. My group will pry make the decision depending our arrival time. (leaving at 7:20 and getting their around 9:30.... possibility..)

Do you know how long it takes to go around to park at Soak City?

Mark Small's avatar

Maybe an extra 5 or 10 minutes. But if you're arriving around 9:30, you'll be much closer to an entrance gate parking there, than if you park in the main front lot.

They will allow you to park there. I parked there yesterday :)

When you go through the toll gates, just stay to your left, and go around Perimeter Road. You will pass the Marina, Famous Daves, and then head around the park. When you get to the back of the park you will see a large lot to your left. That is where you want to park. It will only take a few extra minutes to get there, and will save you alot of time on your run.

EDIT: Thanks for stealing my thunder, Mark ;)

No offense Seledseven, but its kinda funny when new posters come on and question the "How to get there first" tactics of regulars. The lot is open at this time of year, and is usually quite empty BECAUSE Soak City isn't open yet. And for that exact reason, people don't realize that it is available.

Park in the Soak City lot and you save yourself the trouble of walking down Perimeter Road to the Marina gate and you're closer. Secondly (for the other regulars), can you even get to the Marina Gate without parking at the Marina? I know you COULD walk, but are you allowed to walk down perimeter road from the main lot?

Thanks a ton Mark!

I cant wait till tomorrow!! (p.s. even tho im a fanatic of roller coasters, this will be my first ride on Maverick, due to to many bad timings last year (not open/5 hour lines that never moved(and i mean never), etc..)

Yes, you can walk from the main lot to the marina gate. There is a sidewalk for that purpose. But if you don't get to the park early, and end up way out in the main lot, that would be a nice long walk.

Ah, ok. I've never gone that way so I wasn't sure if you could walk it or not. And you're right, that's a very long walk from even half-way out in the lot.

I've been snooping this site for a week or so but i go to Cedar Point a lot. Every time before i always plan what to do. (like Raptor first then hit Wicked Twister cause it has NO line in the morning.)

You're better off starting in the back of the park and hitting those rides while they are empty and then moving to the front when the other 15,000 people have moved to the back of the park. EVERYONE (unless they are running, which is just dumb from the front gate) goes to Raptor first because it's right there. Stick with us, we'll get you more tips.

Thanks again everyone for helping me plan...

So i guess Gainor, i will either be at the main entrance (if we get their late) or at magnum entrance.

Hope to see anyone here thats going!

I disagree... Raptor is always a walk-on by around 10:30 AM ;)

:: End Sarcasm ::

By the way, here is the blue sidewalk that the public can take to the Marina gate.

Almost has Maverick. Apparently they still need to make a few more passes to get it fully updated.
