To anyone who might know..

In Frontier Town the old Frontier Lift building still remains as restrooms between the Mine Ride and Skyhawk. Does anyone know whats kept in the top of that building? Does any part of the old ride remain?

It's a storage building.

I kinda figured it was a storage building, just wondering what is kept in it, and if any remnants of Frontier Lift remain.

I think that this side of the lift is just enclosed. Inoperational now. Give credit for Coasters restaurant for why the lift was closed.

And I thought it was closed for Iron Dragon.

There is a another possible reason. Rides can be moved around each other. They could have relocated it just like Monster and Wetern Cruise.

The lift went over Millennium island. If the ride ever broke down, there would be no easy way to get people out of the ride. I don't know if it ever happened or not. They probably just made the decision that it was easier to remove than to deal with potential problems such as that. Also, someone correct me if I'm worng but I I thought someone said that when Frontier Lift closed, they moved the buckets to the Sky Ride. Perhaps there were other parts on the Frontier Lift they were also able to use for maintenance or replacement parts for Sky Ride.

Being that the ride operated for 19yrs, Im certain it had to have broken down at least once with people on it. From what I remember of the ride, it would be very difficult to get to the passingers.

Speaking of "Sky Rides..." The morning of BooBuzz ERT, I watched as a crew lifted and took several of what appeared to be Sky Ride-like supports away on the back of a flatbed truck. Anyone know of those were the supports that went along with the buckets from Dorney that were in the graveyard?

My guess is that they were going to be melted down, based on the name of the company on the side of the truck, which I don't exactly recall at the moment.

Scrap prices went up so I'm guessing that they decided to scrap them.

As for accessing the ride, I'm sure it was more maintenance then ride shutdown. They have a backup engine and and hand crank for Sky Ride. I'm guessing it was the same for the Frontier Lift. I heard that since it was a longer ride, a lot of people smoked pot on that ride. Even more so than on Sky Ride now.

The Frontier Skyride was very high off the ground. I vaguely remember it. Interesting point, one of the stantions still stand somewhere along the Frontier trail. As for the Restrooms- the building had storage in the 2nd floor. I think they use it for Halloween storage and all the props and such.

The only thing up there are a bunch of handles from brooms & rakes, a locker of cleaning supplies, and an insane bird outside the door. ;)

The only remnants of the ride I ever noticed was the place in the floor where I assumed the axle was mounted.

Actually the storage in the top of the lift is for the cleaning supplies and other things for the rides in the back of the park. The old pirate ride building is used for the same thing for the rides in the front of the park. Area 2 rides also has their Team Leader meetings up in the lift.

So basicly what Neuski said?

From talking to maintenance, the cabins from the frontier skyride were moved to the current skyride. The frontier lift is just storage like others have said. As far as backup engines go, their is a voltzwagen engine on the east station that can bring the cabins in extremely slowly. We never had to use it last season, but i have been told that it takes about 1/2 an hour to bring all the cabins in with the back up engine. There is no hand crank. The crank that is on the east station is to engage the backup engine with cable. There is absolutely no way that you could hand crank the ride.

Ok, so I can't spell... but Roger from maintenance specifically told me that the crank is not for moving the wire, its for engaging the volkswagen engine.
