Tips for getting along with Cedar Point Veterans

Well this will be my first year at Cedar Point so this is pretty much a topic to find out what some of the employees already there are like.
Some of us are bitter, spiteful misanthropes who aren't worth your time.
Well if some of you are like that...then what are the rest of you like? LoL
Most people are quite friendly actually. I had little problems fitting in and was invited to go out and party within my first hour of working. Basically, Cedar Point is a big damn glorified party and the more that attend, the merrier. Don't worry about it.
Thats good to hear. I wasn't really worried just didn't want to start out on the wrong foot, its happend too many times before. How long have you been at Cedar Point Forensicating Geminazi???
You just have to watch out for those 'guests' who have become Cedar Point furniture and tend to show up at all the parties and Louie's...

Not that I know any of them.. hehehehe

Actually.. in all the years I've been going, I think I only had one bad run in with a ride-op and , funny as it may seem, they didn't last too long.

Go figure it was the '99 Mantis crew..

I have worked there for a year and have been accepted to work another year. I too have problems with starting situations off on the wrong foot; however, after working at Cedar Point, I can say that if you follow these simple guidelines, you will fit right in. (at least these were what turned out to be important on the Gemini)

1. Don't lie about things that you have done in the past, esp. making up fantastic stories about yourself because everyone can usually tell when you are lying and it makes you look ridiculous and untrustworthy. (I.E. the person on our ride who claimed to be fluent in three languages as well as the world tai kwan do champion--he was ostracized for A. blatantly lying to us and then B. lying to us again when he wouldn't admit the first 500 times that he was lying.)
2. Don't victimize yourself and then use it as an excuse to be lazy. This pisses off co-workers too. (Similarly, we had a person on our ride last year who complained that she had to stand up too much and that we were all against her because she couldn't sit down. This is ridiculous because she was forgetting an instrumental part of the job description, the part that says that we have to stand a lot. All she ever did before she quit was complain and use every little opportunity to sit on her*****while the rest of us worked.)

Just be honest and friendly and you will have more new friends than you will know what to do with, esp. if you like to party.
I'd definately agree with the don't be lazy! Everyone has to work really hard to make that park as great as it is, and you'll see that it's a lot more fun than you'd think, even when you're working so many hours. But remember this, too -- you won't be the only person that is there for their first season! There really aren't as many people that return as you'd think; you'll do fine! Just ease up and have fun!

Whats really fun is when you start to work with the europeans, they always cracked me up at work, and made me laugh harder at Louie's!!
Buy your own shoes and get them worn in before you arrive! Don't wear your ID around your neck! and Don't hang out in the park all the time on your days off!! I worked at CP for 5 summers while attending school and these are some simple suggestions. All these that I stated I have seen, and everyone will know you are a first year employee. They all look the same, you can pick them out of a crowd! But working at CP was a wonderful experience! You will either hate it or Love it. Have a blast! Be sure to make time for your self.
Well I got too much energy to be lazy so that won't be a problem. And I like the tips about people picking you out as a new employee Chris...good tips, I'll have to remember them. I look forward to working at CP this summer and umm...if I start talking about roller coasters too much just let me know cuz I really can talk forever about them.....its a proven fact!
Where you gonna be working?? You know yet??? I tend to try and find GTTP'ers while I'm there...

Well to get along with me you have to be subservient and accept me as your superior, the extreme paragon of all that exists...or just be yourself and be nice! Whichever way works for you.
