time off

does cedar point let you ask for time off if you need it or is it hard to ask for time off at cedar point
The best way is to ask when you are being hired.. Like if you know when you're going to need the time off (weddings, graduatiions etc.) and have it added to your contract As far as normal time off, you get one day a week off and it's not always going to be the same day off. It depends on staffing in your area/ride/store and thier needs.

On alot of crews, it's usually pretty easy to get a specific day off as long as your TL is cool about it when making the schedule and you ask for it off before everyone else :)

Certain days however are a little harder, 4th of July, Saturdays in July/August in general.

my suggestion to those of you that will be new, when you sign your contract, put in like 3 or 4 contracted days off, in like the end of june or thru july...you'll definitely wish you had, by that time rolls around...if not, you'll get burn out like whoa!!!!

Yes, if there are specific dates you'll need off during the summer, you write them on your application (there will be space provided to do that). If you know you'll need time off for a certain event but don't know exactly what dates it'll be, you can put down that you'll need three days, a week etc off at some point. If you have it written in your contract that you need that time off, then it is guaranteed.

It might be possible that your crew could be overstaffed enought that you'll be allowed to take a couple of days off, even when it's not contracted. That can be rare though. raptor hooker has a very good point for new employees - even if you can't think of any reason you'd need off, it's a good idea to contract a few days off midway through the season. Working 8-14 hours 6 days a week will burn anybody out, and it helps to know you have some respite coming soon :)
