so I made good time from Toledo to Sandusky on the Turnpike yesterday. Approximately 42 minutes from I-75 to Rte 250. Whew!! Good thing that everyone was going just as fast...if not faster than I!!
Arrived in the park about 5:15pm. Went directly to the last showing of "Snoopy's Big Bow Wow" for the day, and wondered....WHY is the original holding area now closed off??? We were herded into the auditorium. Aside from the annoying flashing light toys and the ADD riddled children, the show was fantastic!! It was great to see some old aquaintances that I used to hang out with @ Club X back for another summer of Peanuts madness. The show was just plain fun! I loved the costumes, set and skating. I cringed every time a girl was whipped around on the ice or spun in the air. Small note though- they focused on Summer and "Back to School" (as opposed to all 4 seasons in 2008) and ended with a bizarre, trippy 1960's tribute which was odd. Also, Snoop is the only "character" that makes an appearance (as opposed to other years). But I digress.
Took time for some french fries on the Wicked Twister midway and was slightly annoyed with the Army games/skills that were set up. Really? I salute our Men overseas...but I dont know why...this just irked me.
Rode the train around at least 3 times because I had such a long day and it felt so relaxing!!
This time, I actually went into the CORRECT restroom. No mishaps!
Did a few rounds of brisk mall walking around the entire park and enjoyed people watching. The weather was beautiful and the view from Space Spiral at sunset was even more so. And...this was the first time I had seen this ride filled to capacity as of late.
Sat by the Coliseum and rested before heading out to avoid the parking nightmare. Went to Mickey D's for dinner to take out to Jackson Street Pier and watch the sun go completely down. Peaceful and serene.
Then got to Club X by 11:30 and it was empty!! I think I may have been 1 of the only customers that early. I had a soda and left after 45 minutes. By 12:15..it was still empty. I'm sure things will change and get busy soon enough.
That's all to report. I know...not very exciting. When I go alone, I usually do the "old people's tour" of the park. I save the thrill rides for when I'm with friends. So hopefully in the next week or so!!!!
I wish I could get to Cedar Point as often as you. It would be nice to just have a day to take in the park. :)
The train is very relaxing. So is the Sky Ride. But if you want real relaxation, you should take a couple rides on the Wave Swinger. ;)
"You wanna, you gotta, you hafta hold on, Cedar Point...HOLD ON!"
