Left my house at about 8:00am, tood a little over 2 hours to get to Sandusky from the burbs of Detroit.
Our initial plan was to ride Iron Dragon and Mantis before 11:00 and grab a TTR right when they started handing them out. Well we waited maybe 4 trains for Iron Dragon and the sign for Mantis said 1/2 hour, but we ended up waiting for Mantis for over 45 mins making it about 11:15 when we got off. The Mantis is still so slow with those damn seat belts. It was stacking all 3 trains about half the time. so After exiting Mantis, we checked out the TTR line. The line extended way past the queue for it and even past the Red Garter. We decided to just wait to ride MF till last (which turned out to be good anyway). So after passing up TTR, we headed to the back of the park.
By now we were all pretty hungry so we ate at Frontier Inn. Great pizza salads and subs as always. Went on White Water Landing after a 15 min wait and then headed to Mine Ride. Waited about 15 mins for that and encountered a not so nice employee. She was a ride op on Mine Ride and her name was La Tonya. First she jabbed the lap bar into my boyfriends knee as hard and she could then she yelled at eveyone in the train to "get your hands off the bar guys", then she yelled at my boyfriend again telling him to cross his legs and he yelled back, "i'm trying, your crushing them." Finally she pulled it back up so he could adjust himself. We are going to write a letter to park ops for that one, she was a real b!
Next we headed over to Mean Squeak. Now everytime I ride it, I say that I will never do it again, but it seems like whoever I am at the point with that day, they always insist on riding it. Like always it was terrible. The roughest ride I have ever been on, just terrible. The brakes on the first hill were on but not too hard and I did get a little bit of air on a few hills here and there, but I thought it was gonna get stuck on the 2nd and 3rd hills and the bumps were so bad I was afraid the train would fall apart. The only good thing about this ride it the view it gives you of the boneyard. I noticed some clearing there over closer to the Sandcastle Suites. I also noticed a house out there that I have never seen, is that the old Cost Guard Station?
Anyways, I got a frozen banana and then we rode Gemini, rode the red side with a 1 train wait and it was smooth as ever and the racing was timed perfect, I love this ride. Then we rode Monster (walk on).
On to Magnum and waited 1/2 an hour for that. I love the misters, they need to put them in the other lines like Mantis especially. Magnum seemed smoother this year and is still the best coaster on earth in my opinion. On to Corkscrew, a 3 train wait for the front, same old same old. Then we waited about 20 mins for Space Shot on PT, one set of 4 seats were not working right on the Space Shot side. The line for Turbo drop looked about 45 mins. Next we headed to Disaster Transport and waited about 25 mins for that. It seemed darker this year, but besided that, just the same.
Then we went on the Giant wheel, I love its new location, just beautiful. I also noticed the boardwalk-looking cement around it, hmmm......
Then we went on Demon Drop with a 15 min wait. I put a dime on my knee for the first time and it was pretty cool, but it almost took my eye out!
Then we ate dinner at the Silver Dollar. Good food, but a little pricy. $9.00 for Chicken Fingers, but it's enough for 2 people.
Then we went on Cedar Downs, seemed slower than normal. Drove the Antique Cars where the idiot in front of us kept stopping, we were yelling obsinities at him.
Blue Streak next. We had to wait about 15 mins for this because they were running one train empty to dry it off cuz somebody had barfed in it. They would wipe it with disinfectant and run it empty, they did this about 4 times. Then we hit Raptor with a 1/2 hour wait and then it was time to head for the Force.
I love the way the Ride is only feet from you while in line. The line was about 1 1/2 hours and by the time we made it to the front it was getting dark out. I really like the station with the music and lights and stuff. The lift hill was super fast and sped up halfway up. I kept my hands up the whole time and it was over in a flash. The whole ride was just so fast. I kinda wish they had put more hills in and made it longer, but its a good ride. I felt drunk when I got off. on the way the the parking lot it started to lightening, so we left at the perfect time.
Overall a good day, weather was nice and the crowds were light. It was easily my best visit to the point!
