I am going with my mother and Ensigns daughter. If anyone's up to meeting log on here and tell Ensign and he can call me on my cell phone. I'll check here in the am but we're not leaving until later, arrival @ noon. As my niece is a preschooler I will mainly be in the kids/regular rides areas unless I get a call to meet someone. If I'm on a water ride or something I can't to my phone but he can leave a message and I can check back ASAP for details. I don't know if it'll work but crazier things have been known to happen. I intend to wear my Maverick First Rider tee and blue shorts and blue Treva sandals in case someone needs to know. Unless it gets wet and I change the shirt to a blue striped cami, but the rest remains the same.
Maybe I'll get to meet one of you but if not, I intend to have fun as my niece is taller this year and can ride more rides. First time experiences on even the regular ones can be fun!

That's no way to talk about Jess.
I really need to get to the point. Maybe on Sunday, I haven't decided yet.
Goodbye MrScott
John
We left early, Jess wasn't feeling well and it was REALLY hot.

Hey Bryan, I would've passed on your Donut Time post to my sis, except I didn't read it until after 3:30. Figured you had probably left that locale by then.

Yeah, we were back in the car by then and on our way home.
I've never been to the park in that kind of heat before, it's not comfortable.
We got 2 good rides on Maverick in during morning ERT so it was all worth the trip. The park was completely PACKED today as well.
EDIT: The water bombs and fire hose were both operational on Maverick today.
You can see them both in THIS picture.
On a side note, Magnum is still only running two trains and here's the queue this afternoon. One of the ops said they will have the third train back before Coastermania but I'd take it with a grain of salt.

Bryan that's a great picture of Millennium and Maverick. I hope so see some new postcards next year and a poster or two (perhaps the 2008 calendar) similar to that shot.
That picture of Magnum's queue isn't so bad either. Did you ask those girls on the hand rail near the centre of the pic to pose for you? ;)

We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
Sorry you guys had to leave early, but I understand. I was up there from 6pm til close. It had started to cool off by then so it wasn't too bad, but I could tell that the park had been pretty crowded. Maverick was down to less than an hour wait by that time, so I scored 4 Maverick rides and 3 on Dragster in 4 hours. Not too shabby.
I'll be back at the park this weekend, I'm sure will be crowded, but the weather is supposed to be a bit better.
My son and I were also there all day along with 2 of his friends. Unfortunately, we didn't get to ride Maverick. We were in line for about an hour when it went downt his morning. We came back at 940 to catch the last ride of the night, and guess what... mechanical problems! Grr! We waited until 1030 and they announced that it wouldnt be back up running but they were taking us all to MF! That was cool of the park to do. We were there all day from 10a-11pm. Ride count-TTD x 2, MF x 2, Mean Streak x 1, Blue streak x 1, gemini x 1, Raptor x 1, Mantis x 1, ID x 1. Rode a few other little ones here and there and my son did Thundercanyon and SRF. Oh yea, got to do Skyhawk and Maxair aso.
Thanks Vince, here's a cropped and touched up version. It looks a little better and works well as a desktop! :)

I'm way a head of you. As soon as I saw it I made it my desktop. It looks pretty good as is. Thanks!
We'll miss you MrScott and Pete

Sorry you didn't get to ride KidsRRT. I guess I got lucky. I got back in line for my last ride at about 9:15 or so, and was about halfway through the queue when someone came down to gather single riders. I jumped at the chance, and got right on. I was off by about 9:35, so I just missed the downtime.
Looks like it's still down this morning. As of 10:30, the trains are still on the transfer track, so it's obviously not running.

I was there Thursday 6-7 and by the time we got in line for Maverick it was about 10:15a, I was very impressed with how quickly the line was moving through the WWL station. We waited about twenty minutes and then, "Maverick is down for mechanical reasons..." We waited it out and about fifty people ahead of us left, so we got up to the first set of stairs. We waited about thirty-five minutes until they started sending loaded trains out. We moved quickly up to the station and then once again, "Maverick is down due to mechanical reasons..." It was my first ride on Maverick so we waited for the front seat and finally after about two hours I got my first ride. I thought it was unbelieveable! The airtime was the best I've ever had from any coaster and boy those quick turns! Wow!
I thought it was extremely crowded for a Thursday, and like stated above very, very hot. For the rest of our day we had lunch at Famous Dave's and like always the food was great, and our server was wonderful! Also, our food and drinks came out very quickly. We decided to go to Wicked Twister and it was shut down, no one was even working on it from what I could see. Does anyone know what is going on with it? Anyway we went back for another Maverick ride, this time no shut downs in line and we waited for about an hour and fifteen minutes. It was about 3:30p. We rode in the back and it was a lot better than the front. I did have to put my arms down in the back though cause I had some headbanging and a whole lot of arm banging, I've got the bruses to show for it today!
