This Ride Has Great Theming!

I have been on some really great themed rides to name two, Rockin Roller Coaster at Disney And Tower Of Terror also At Disney. THis is What cedarpoint needed a great themed ride (ttd). They didn't do so well with disaster transport but it still is fun. Hopefully this will bring life back into this midway lets face it corkscrew is loosing its touch.
I would have to agree with you. Top Thrill Dragster is a small for theming, but a giant leap for Cedar Point. :) Hopefully they will contiue to theme rides this well into the future.

Can't wait to be at the Point!

hopefully, but without dragsters...

i dont like theming thats why i like cedar point so much nut now they are turning into a theme park instead of an amusement park because of TTD and all the annoying snoopy stuff.

brennan, did you happen to read one of my posts in the topic "Dragster plaza..."? i said the exact same thing. I say Cedar Point stays an AMUSEMENT park, not a THEME park. it just seems things would be better that way...

You must be forgetting the statistics of the ride they are theming. I do believe it's a world-record breaker, if I'm not mistaken. That's plenty amusement for me. :-)

That's Ridiculous™

It's really looking like there going to have a 'winners circle' at the exit also.

I think all of this in neat. I can't wait to see TTD in person though.

Put it this way, if TTD didn't have a Dragster theme, it would be kind of lame. The Dragster theme fits perfectly and explains why the ride is so short.
I think that theming as a great idea, but only for this particular ride. Other than TTD and the Camp Snoopy area, I don't think there should be any theming at Cedar Point.
I am happy with what they are doing with the themeing with Dragster, but the question is if you don't think there should be any themeing at Cedar Point what are your thoughts on Frontier Town, I mean its only 30 years old.

Frontier Town is another exception. ;) The theming fits well with its name and it's pretty cool to walk through the shady path and see all the old looking shops and stuff. Not to mention looking up and seeing Millennium Force!
Cedar Point is an amusement park with some themed areas and rides. It's definitely not a theme park.

What is most anticipated event of 2003? the debut of Dragster, the release of Metallica's new album, the release of Terminator 3, or the release of Matrix:Reloaded...tough call.

I dont think cp should be a theme park but some of their rides and the surronding areas are so bland, standing in the queues, theres nothing to look at but trees and people... and i dont think a dragster near the entrance is tacky!

i am glad to see some themes around CP but their main theme is coasters! I never ever think i was thinking while riding raptor, oh wow this is what a bird does huh, neeeeeeat! no i was always thinking hmmm i am having alot of fun, wow the back of the park is awesome....YEEAAAHHH!!! i love that drop!. to me themes are over rated. a good coaster is a good coaster before it is themed, not b4. C'mon!! Magnum great ride now theme, the good MFer is wonderful(Front seat at night WOW!) but there is something with TTD that i think needs theme to pull off the great ride. it is like icing on top of the icing on a cake. That and CP can rake in a bundle on all sorts of themed ride parafinail(sp?) like pit passes driver cards representing the different color trains, even little car models. There are a bunch of things they can sell with a themed ride like this. yay for a themed TTD not i wouldn't want much else, went don't need another coaster named Batman the ride(yes i know it is a SFI name but they have like 13 Batman the ride tides, some the inverted some not lol!)!

Besides the great rides and being the best of everything, the best part about Cedar Point is that it isn't Six Flags! YAY!

I like themeing for indivigial rides I know this will sound Korny But...
It does give you somthing to look at. And to enhance the feel of the ride.
Just be glad Macdonalds didn't get get there meathooks into those golden arches. Now that would be tacky.

I'm not an old fogey, I'm just an old coaster rider..

Wow, i am appauled that you would say Diasaster Transport is fun or a good ride...i'm sorry to say, the first time i rode it, i was ticked I wasted my time walking on it. Face it, the ride is pathetic.

And Corkscrew "is losing its touch?" Riiiight, once again, welcome to reality, Corkscrew lost its touch many years ago, and is i ride I found was also an absolute waste of time.

I'm not sure why you'd be "appauled" ... after all, "Anyone can say anything, and thats the guys opinion"

Hmm, If you were ticked about DT. I wonder HOW you could even GO to SFMM, Because there are So many coasters that are a "waste of time". Dont even let me start naming all the rides that are a waste of time there. Anything you say about CP that is probably NOT true in reality can be easily applied to SFMM. So please, Stop wasting your energy by saying BS about CP. Because chances are...NOBODY CARES.

I think that TTD needs the theming for two reasons, one is that every great amusement park needs a themed ride, and two is that without the theming this would be a piece of crap ride without it is like having a bike with no whells ( or a coaster to say the least;) )!!!
Are you suggesting that a 420 foot, 120 mph ride is a piece of crap if it isn't themed? What's the matter with you? I think having excellent theming but a crappy coaster is a better comparison to "a bike without wheels."

Enjoy your ride on the big bad bug
