No way it can be the Yankee Cannonball! I know that rides, and it doesn't look ANYTHING like the area in Salem NH. I know because that's my home park. If it were, there would be taller trees in the background!

^ could it possibly be that those trees are 43 years older now than when that picture was taken and COULD have grown just a bit?

True. True. I have to rember than Canobie's been around since 1902 and the Cannonball sin 1936. You guys should get up to NH & ride it some time.

If I find my way up there, I'll be sure to.
I know this summer that we're going to TN for a week, and I'm planning 1 day at Dollywood to hit the rides there.
Then I'm finally going to get Kings Island in July.
Goodbye MrScott

I grew up in New England, and the TC was my first roller coaster. Followed closely by the Flyer Comet at Whalom.

I really don't think that is Bluestreak. If you look at it, the entire picture is kind of grainy. Except for the letters on the front of the train. I understand they are white much like the dots causing the grain, but there is more white in the picture that is not affected. There are no right turns. And I don't think CP has a yellow barn like structure anywhere. and i've never heard of one in the park. Of course i'm younger then most. can anyone confirm that?
"Ive got the need, the need for speed!"
I believe it to be Blue Streak. As far as the barn, times and things change.
But, THAT IS Blue Streak, IMO.

Mr. Scott, show me where on Blue Streak there is a right hand diving turn. Or any diving turn for that matter.

Not to mention the building in the background. I know times change, but I don't recall ever seeing that building in any pictures or reading about it being there.
I’m sorry but the evidence is saying this isn't Blue Streak. For someone to convince me otherwise, I would need some pretty heavy proof.
The front of the trains were like that at one time. If anyone else has the Cedar point DVD they can see this. However the cars said "THE BLUE STREAK" not just "BLUE STREAK" Is there anyway I could post this picture? Plus, Was Blue Streak ever white when the train was the style in the picture? Im thinking that this has to be somthing else.

So... I was "coaster photo surfing" and think I solved this.
I looked at the Wildcat yesterday, but didn't see enough evidence to believe it to be the ride... until now.
The lights match, the trains match, and a similar turn with buildings is enough to convince me that the Wildcat at Lake Compounce might actually be the coaster.

Let's all remember MrScott is partially impaired these days, we won't hold that against you. ;)
eat. sleep. ride! - Coaster apparel and accessories!
Ride on, MrScott!
And there's water involved with this ride somewhere, too. ;)
Also, for a while there - BS wasn't blue. I guess we could have called it "The Brown Streak". :)
The Brown Streak... every mothers worst nightmare.

I also believe MrScott is wrong. Does this photo shed any light on the subject? http://www.laffinthedark.com/articles/compounce/compounce5.htm
