So lately I've been thinking a lot about getting a job at the Point in the near future. On the site, it says the minimum age for housing is 18, which basically means the minimum age for work is 18 (for someone who lives 3 hrs away like me).
I'm 16 right now, but I want to ask this now so I have the information to plan the future (and because I'm not sure if I'll still be on this site in 2 years, times change). My 18 summer will be the summer between senior year and college. Will working at CP all summer screw with my whole beginning college thing? Like... will I get dumped in my dorm 3 weeks late and miss a week of classes because my shift wasn't over yet, or will they allow me to process out with due time to get all that ready?
I've been thinking that the whole living on property would prepare me somewhat for the whole college dorm situation, but I'm just wondering how much else it would screw up.
Basically my question is this, should I get the job when I'm 18 (between senior year and college) or the next summer (when I'm set in college, know how the routine works etc).
Thanks in advance for the input :)

To answer your question, they allow you to pick your last day of work. It's all done on the application that you fill out.
This summer, I am out of of high school and I start college late August, and like you would, I'm just working this summer till college starts.
No worries.

You get to choose your process-in and process-out dates. The only thing they might do would be to push your process-in date back, or push up your process-out date.

Ok, thanks for the information. Some more thinking (and talking with my parents) and I'm almost positive I'm gonna go for it.
Second question - if you want a job, are you pretty much going to get it? Like, is there a stressful interview and a limited weeding process, or is it fill out your application and show up the first day?
Second question part 2 - do you get to choose where you work? I would prefer a job in Rides (I love interacting with people, spieling would be ridiculously fun for me), do I have a good shot? Would I get to choose even what ride, or is that all decided by higher ups..?

Second Question: As much as it may or may not have been like that before, I think times have changed. I know of several people who were very much qualified and are excellent employees, whose applications were all denied.
Second Question Part 2: You get to choose your top three departments, and three departments you will not accept. Other than that it's pretty much up to them. While you won't be gaurenteed a specific ride, for example, it never hurts to put in a request when you do your interview.
