They should think twice about getting rid of Ocean Motion.

This is one of the best flat rides in the park. It could easily be moved to a new location. Even where Demon Drop was would be better than losing it altogether. Plenty of other rides have been moved over the years. Why can't this one be moved?

Who said it was even sold/being moved/torn apart?

Seriously .. How many different versions of a "swinging" ride does CP need to have ?!?! Wind Seeker is just pounding the final nail into the coffin of what was already the obsolete Ocean Motion. But Hey .. God forbid CP builds or does anything that isn't somehow related to a "family attraction" !!

Ocean motion was boring, I have to admit. It was too short, and one time my friend fell asleep on it..........

Vikings at kings island is great and they give you a ride cycle long enough to have a scream contest! you cant even try to do that on OM, because it's too short and stops just when you start having fun.

That's cedarpoint's fault, not the fault of the ride. Cp sets the ride cycle time.

I agree about keeping Ocean Motion. I think if they moved it to where Demon Drop used to be, it might get more ridership. And Miss Maverick, I think you bring a good point too about maybe increasing the ride cycle of ocean motion. Right now Ocean Motion is in such a bad spot because no one sees it over there in the corner. Don't worry with the economy being the way it is, I doubt they'll sell it. :)

That's what I was thinking when I was discussing the sale price of the ride. I was like "There's no way it's worth a full price UNLESS the speed and length of the cycle can get jacked way up."

I'd begin haggling at $75,000.

$179K isn't full price. In an article talking about the ride, it was said a new one would be $1M. The ride just got a new hull (that are apparently good for 20 years+). $179K seems reasonable. However, I still wonder if it will sell.

If they didn't have plans for the old DD site, I'm sure they'd put it there. But, if that site is needed for something else, then why waste time and money putting it there if your just going to turn around and move it again.

I swept there all the time, and there was NEVER a line for it. EVER. I have never seen that thing running with more than say, 15 people on it. Nobody knows it exists. I have talked to some of the ride hosts there, and they were bored all the time. They never had anything to do, they were empty for long periods of time, and the guests never were excited to be on their ride.
It is time for it to go.

I rode it once in 2006, and I remember it feeling like it was running in a jog rather than an actual program! Sea Dragon at MA is much better.

The ride cycle on Ocean Motion can be altered by the ride host. If a supervisor isn't around, just ask the ride host to kick it up a notch.

By what parameters exactly? Ride length? I would assume it reaches its max height currently, so maybe the number of swings it does while at max height?
