The Villian to be moved to Cedar Point in effort to clear land for Geauga Lake's inpending demise.
Cedar Point will begin demolishing the former Oceana Stadium after Halloweekends ends, to make room for The Villian. The Demon Drop will also be giving it's riders it's last drop this year.
The Villian's double out and back course will fit in nicely along the beach behind the existing rides, such as the Big Wheel, Disaster Transport, and the Wicked Twister. It will start is turn-around in the old footprint of the Demon Drop near the parking lot. Due to it's unique steel structure, the coaster should withstand Lake Erie's fierce winters very nicely, as well as offer a grand view of the beach while riding in the summer.
The Villian will be renamed Renegade to fit into the CF naming and badging system. Renegade will be Cedar Point's 18th coaster!!!!

I wouldnt mind Villian. But they story just seems WAAAAYY to made up. and besides... i dont see how an out and back makes it all the way over to Demon Drop to turn around.
But i havent seen the ride in a while and im at work.
"Ive got the need, the need for speed!"
I would not want it by DT.
I would not want it in CP.
I would not want it by Mean Streak.

^Thanks for that laugh. :) You are Hilarious!
GATEKEEPER-I came, I rode, I was mildly disappointed; until a second ride (rear left) put GateKeeper back on the...it's a nice ride list.
Nice Dr. Soose Rhyme.
I heard that there was going to be another coaster in the places of the aqua stadium and the demon drop, but not for another few years though.
But it is just a rumor, just like the villian rumor. Don't believe it until it comes from a credible source!

Has anyone looked at a map?
A) Demon Drops footprint is really quite small.
B) Oceana is not really that close to Demon Drop
C) There are 3 major rides and a parking lot in the way of making a ride share that space.
While it would be possible to wipe out that corner of parking lot to put in a coaster, a quick look at the lot in July or October (Halloweekends) shows that every last one of those spots is needed.

Although I cannot reveal my source of information, I can tell you this person works very close to Park Operations. Cedar Point is aware of it's lack of land problem for future developments. The Stadium has been the target of development and a major eye-sore for it's flagship park. Plus, management has not been pleased with the drop in revenue on this existing midway from the food vendors/games and in-park spending. Renegade will be a big draw into the zone 1 area.

Well, I'll break out Jeff's old adage then.

I bet that his "reliable source" is also putting bracings at the bottom of Magnum's supports to keep it from sinking any further.

If it comes down to it, I could deal with the Villain being moved to Cedar Point. It's theming would fit better back in frontiertown, though. But then again, what does CP care about theming? (Someone from another site like this also commented on how a lot of CP's theming is lacking in a lot of their parks.)
