The things I miss/like

This isn't very coaser realated, but more of a site comment. It's kinda long, so go now or for ever hold your pee (I always say that before we leave for a long road trip, and I figured It'd fit in on a coaster site) :).

Now, I am an every day patron of both Guide to the Po!nt, and Coaster Buzz, and throughout my many days on both sites, I have noticed a few things:

I joined both in the same day back around late June, maybe early July, when Coaster Buzz was about 2,500 members less than it is now.

Now don't get me wrong, I think it's great that the Buzz is booming like it is, but one of the things I miss about it that I like about GTTP is that it used to be more personal. At Coaster Buzz, it seems that every week, we have one or two people named Yappy McJackass who signs up for a membership and runs about the site making lude comments, threads about other members ((fill in member name here) is a big fat (add vulgar word here)), or is just plain clogging the boards with repeat and non coaster-related topics. I've also noticed that the grammer, spelling, and use of the English language have gone down the tubes.

Here at GTTP It seems to be like Coaster Buzz used to be. A more tight-knit community, with a selection of ride-enthusiasts with a higher level of intelligence. When I come to GTTP after a long day of doing...well, what ever the hell I do, I find that I still know all the members. Any way, I guess what I'm basicly trying to say, is thank you all.

Sorry If I sounded whiney guys (and girls), but I guess I just needed a place to vent.

Disclaimer: Jeff- I AM IN NO WAY TRYING TO TRASH COASTER BUZZ. I didn't want to complain, but as I stated in the "paragraph" before, I just needed a place to vent. I don't know what I would do If I had to go more than one day with out either site. I'll take this time to say thanks for both of the great sites. They've become the only two coaster sites I regularly visit. I'm usually on the Buzz more hours a day than I get sleep. Thanks...

I was about to say.. I have a date with a GTTP lurker this Weds (she in-process' on Monday at CP)..

I realize this is Ohio and not West Virginia or ALabama. But is this legal if we're one big happy family????

(and I picked WV because that's where she's from and I lived in Alabama for 2 years, no I'm not picking on them)

I have always loved this board. One reason I think we have a better bond is that we have strictly one love and that is CP. With CB it involves a lot more with different parks, different rides and different people. A good majority of the people who post here have a lot in commone as opposed to CB where there are a lot of different people with a lot more different views.

For the most part I love our family here and have made great friends with a lot of people on here!

I'm a member of both GTTP and Coasterbuzz but I also like this board over Coasterbuzz. I feel secluded in a sort of way. I give gratitude to Jeff and Dan for keeping this board as great as it is.
Thank You :)

Actually... I'm on about 16 differnet boards (including GTTP and Coasterbuzz). All different things. One run by a friend of mine who is a director, others for various interests and I'd have to say this is one of the closer nit groups. I like it that way.

I tend to stay out of teh coasterbuzz ones because no matter how factual your argument, soon as some people find out your home park is CP, you're automatically discredited and your opinion will only back CP. While this is not true because there are some things and rides I like at other parks over some of the ones at CP (Riddlers Revenge at SFMM took my all-time fav coaster, beat out Mantis finally) no one will ever believe you.

Yes, even though I have never really met anyone here (I hope to), I still feel like we are all friends. :)

I know what you guys mean. I remember when there were only about 100-150 members to Coasterbuzz and GTTP. Back then if you missed a day, you could get caught up quickly, but now there are so many threads that they are flooded in a matter of hours.

I've also noticed that all a lot of people over at Coasterbuzz want to do is to start something, and it didn't used to be that way.
This thread made me finally post. I've been a long-time patron of GTTP, but I was always too shy to post. However, seeing this, the loyalty among all us CP fans, made me realize what a wonderful place GTTP is, and the park itself! :-)

I ADORE GTTP and the people here ARE my family and I love them all (they know who they are)
I heard "are you LuvRaptor" so many times this past season it wasn't even funny. I haven't been to CB in months only because there is too much bickering going on over there. I stick here with the thing I know best and the people I adore. I have almost 540 posts-need I say more?
CAN'T wait to see my family and meet some newbies too! :)

I have been a member of both CB and GTTP since April '00, and I have to agree with Intamin2k's observations. CB has changed in the past few months, and changed a lot! There is a lot more bickering, backstabbing, and just plain nasty noise over there. I really have to sympathize with the mods. They certainly have their hands full.

I love the comradery that is here. You guys are right, we are one big happy family. I don't know any of you personally, but I know for a fact that I'd enjoy spending the day with Jo riding Raptor, tilting back frosty ones with Red Garter Rob, basking in the airtime joy with Dan on Magnum, listening to humorous stories from Crystal Kat about Disaster Transport, or doing anything CP related with any of you! :)

Ok I've gone over my mushy meter. Thanks not only to Jeff for providing this place for us, but thanks to each of you for making everyone feel welcome and special.

Have a great Easter!

I can't say that I feel like I've been posting here long enough to be a "family member". I think this is only my 91st post. But I can't wait to meet all of you who have signed up to do the whole Gemini 100 thing in June. Not only will it be a cool event, but hopefully it will create some bonds between us. What a better way to get to know a CP fan than to meet and talk in the environment we all know and love?

Let me get this straight. You know her, and she knows you, but she wants to eat him. And everyone's okay with that? Did I miss something?
