The switch between Sweep to Ride Op

As some of you know I'm 17 and coming from Jersey to work at CP. I'll be 18 in July. Is it possible to go from Sweep to Ride Op on my 18th birthday? Has anyone ever been through this process and is it easy to do? Sorry for asking so many questions.

To be honest with you, I would ask Erin166. She seems to know her stuff pretty well. It's just my 2nd year. IF I get Leadership, and they let you switch to Ride Op, maybe they will put you on my ride. Don't be sorry about asking questions. That's why this is here. You are not the only 1st year that has questions; trust me!!

Sweeps are part of ride operations. People get switched between rides all the time, because of staffing or other issues. When switching from ride to ride, there is no garuentee that you'll get a certain ride though, especially in July when staffing is at its peak.

Thanks Jake and I'm not too concerned on what ride. I'm just making sure a sweep can go into rides but since they are in the same department I'm guessing that they can. Awesome =)

Yep.

Can you speak to your area manager and supervisors who are pretty good about moving you around to cross train!

Yup, it happens :) last year we had a crew member in September turn 18 and she became part of our crew

That was another one of my questions. Are any of the good coaster spots open in late July? I'm not picky but I'd do better at a coaster as oppose to Planet Snoopy lol

10 bucks says you get the train in july. we always get the overflow of ride op/sweeps lol

I wouldn't mind. As long as I have an awesome crew and a great summer! =)

When are you going to start working at CP? because minors cant live in housing anyway, unless youre going to pay for your own place?

Well I'm coming in early June because thats when I graduate. I'm actually looking for off point housing just until I'm 18 and can live at CP.
