The station is going up!

I doubt there will be audio. But if the trains have lights that will look great especially when it cuts across the parking lot where there isn't usually a lot of lights.

Does anyone know how lights or audio are powered on a coaster train? I'm assuming a rechargeable battery system. Would it be something that plugs in and charges overnight? Or maybe some type of generator system to keep a constant charge?

Nick

How is the windseeker music lame? I like the music, it fits the ride and being high up in the sky. What kind of music would you like to hear on gatekeeper? (if they even install audio)...

I think something like this would be fitting.

Nick, I would imagine it would be a battery powered light system, but instead of plugging the trains in at night, perhaps they can top off the battery charge when the trains are in the station via some type of bus bar that automatically engages.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

Windseekers play 18 different tracks, “Hedwig's Theme” from the Harry Potter films, the theme songs from E.T., Star Trek: The Next Generation, and Superman, and music from “Flight of the Valkyries”. All of which IMO tend to be over played, and give the ride more hype and “awesomeness” than it probably deserves.

Something more contemporary like…
“I knew you were trouble” by Talor Swift, “F**kin Problems” by A$AP Rocky Featuring Drake, 2 Chainz & Kendrick Lamar, but most likely “Stuck on You” by Lionel Richie would likely be more suited to Windseeker.

“I Will Wait” by Mumford & Sons is what they will be playing in the queue line for Gatekeeper this spring, but what I would like to really see is more like what they have at Universal Florida on the Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit, which has 6 categories of songs which can be played during the ride.

After riders board the train and lower their restraint, attached to the restraint is a small screen containing the logo of the ride and five categories of songs the rider can pick from. The song that the rider picked begins as the train climbs the vertical lift hill.

I don't particularly care about the music but I really can't wait to see the lights on the trains.

Windseeker is more of a classic, calm ride. The music that they play on windseeker are all classical pieces and have the theme of flying. I think that is perfect!

The lights will look very nice. The trains overall will look really nice with the gold heads. However, I would not like to see audio. Why would you have classical music on an intense thrill ride? It would be like entering an elevator and hearing rap, except the other way around. Besides, I find on-board audio rather annoying unless it's a flat ride with a story or something.

How do the lights on Verbolten's trains work? I would assume it would be similar.

I am really curious on how long these lights on the trains are actually going to be in working condition. Or, if it's something that needs to be seen in the first few weeks of the coasters operation.

I think they will be LEDs and windseekers still seem to be working granted its only been two seasons.

Everyone knows the hidden tracks are the only ones worth listening to on that ride. :)

And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun

^^ I'd say there's definitely a commitment to keep up on the lighting, considering it only took one off-season under Mr. Ouimet to get all new lighting on Power Tower, Millennium and Giant Wheel.

It looks like they've slightly moved the webcam to include part of Troika and the plaza stairs. It looks like they're adding dirt to that area too. I'm sure that area will start making some good progress now that misty all of the heavy duty construction is over.

I just noticed something on the first webcam. It looks like they are starting to add the roof for the Gatekeeper station. I thought I would share that with everyone.

It also looks like there's a staircase up to the station now

What's going on under the station, is that gonna be the exit maybe?

^I don't know the exact details but I think the queue will go under the station. I also wouldn't be surprised if they incorporate the on-ride photo building/gift shop under the station too to save space and not construct another building.

I was thinking that. I have a feeling those stairs we see are going under the station.
