I was planning a trip September 14-16...I found it strange that the park is open till midnight Friday and Saturday. Is the park usually busy enough to warrant it? Not that I'm complaining but it seems like September would be slower and ill have to park all to myself. Is it halloweekends already then?
That is the first weekend of Halloweekends. All Halloweekends Fridays and Saturdays have a midnight closing time.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun
The crowds on Saturdays for Halloweekends can be NUTS!
Expect to wait a while if you are planning on going through a haunted house!
I will be going the following weekend and plan on taking full advantage of the Fast Pass.
I went yo Halloweekends a couple years ago in October and the lines were all way outside of the queues into the midway....is the first weekend of it usually as busy as in October? If it is as busy I may go the weekend before because I want to get on a lot of rides.
I went to the first weekend last year, and was still really bad. Saturday was a lot worse the Friday... so if you want to ride a lot, plan on doing most of your riding on Friday night (and maybe getting a fastpass for Saturday).
Halloweekends is getting so popular, I think the days of seeing small crowds are over.
You may want to check and see when schools start in the area and go that weekend... I don't know if it will make any difference at all, but it may help a little!
Also, keep an eye on the weather... I've made trips to CP in September where the winds were really bad and TTD and other rides couldn't run a full schedule... there's also a big possibility of rain.
Ill probably just go the week before even though the park is only open till 10. I figure the park should be slow because people will be waiting for Halloweekends to start and I couldnt care less about going during Halloweekends.
The Friday before Halloweekends starts has been one of my best trips for riding. Last year I arrive around 6:30 and rode 23 times in 3 1/2 hours. All of the rides were on Millennium Force, Dragster, Magnum, Maverick, Skyhawk, Raptor and Wicked Twister. On Millennium they were allowing you to get off the ride and re-enter the platform without walking down the exit and around. On Dragster you could get off and get in line at the exit, then they filled seats from there without walking around. I have no idea what that Saturday is like, but wouldn't expect it to be too busy since they are only open form 12p-10p.
I am going to go Friday and Saturday Sept 7th and 8th. Then driving to Canada's wonderland on Sunday about how far way are the two?
Unless you're a seagull or a dolphin.
Wait. Nope. Dolphins are still screwed. Just a seagull.
