The Park Is Coming To Life

I was looking at the webcam today and I can already see the park coming to life. If you look at the pagoda cam look to the far left and you can already see the shrink wrap was taken off the face drawing booths. With today being so nice out, I wish the park was open. I guess I will have to wait 3 weeks to see the park again when I process in.

They DO do that......right? Test the face paint booths?

Oddly, I have some knowledge of this -- or at least at Waldameer I do. I took my daughter there for Opening Day last May, where she was the very first face paint customer of the year. This was the first face the artist had painted since the previous season, so no, they don't test them. (Of course, Cedar Point may hold its employees to a higher standard....)

I'm anxious for the lemon chill stand to open. :) Seriously though, I hope the trains are being put back on the track as we speak. Well maybe not today since this is Easter weekend, but throughout the week.

I have a question for anybody on here? Does anybody know if they are going to put up a higher wall where Demon Drop is now? I know they said they were planting grass there, but I'm just curious if they're leaving that area open or boxing it up like they did for Maverick?

I would think that this is something we'll have to wait and see for ourselves. As of right now, no, it's the same wall.

Why put in a wall? That area will look really nice with just grass.

^ Agreed. When Geauga Lake took out Mr. Hyde's Nasty Fall, that area looked good with just grass and that little sitting area. But my guess is if they are going to utilize that space in 2011 or in the near future, then the fence should stay up because it would be a waste to put benches and plant flowers there just for one season. I wonder what it is going to be like going to the bathroom at the main entrance after a long car ride and not seeing or hearing people scream on their way down the tower. Guess we'll have to wait and see just like Corkscrew Headache said

He's thinking along the lines of a construction fence of which is technically not needed until they start to put in the MASSIVE GCI. ;)

Maybe they will plop down a Dragon Wagon there to keep the most coaster count rather than tie with a certain park in Cali ;)

Look closely at the Dragster Cam today...you can see a Dragster train at the end of the transfer track on the right!

I'll be really angry if what happened last year happens again this year in terms of certification.

I don't know if anyone has said this yet but they restored the Carousel for this year.
