Last night it came to me
How much did you have to drink?
I kid, I kid...(seriously...I just saw you don't have too many posts, so you may not know that at times around here you need very thick skin) ;)
After watching the POV of Furious Baco...and listening to reviews of X and the Japan version, it sounds like the "latest" attempts have flopped. I'm not a fan of flyers at all. I find them to be 1) completely unforceful and 2) uncomfortable.
I think the "next big thing" is exactly what is being delivered ala Maverick and Furious Baco...that is, a thrilling ride mixed with interesting theming.
With the "coaster wars" over I think parks (especially after what CP has been through) are going to stress quality...a full ride experience that involves thrill and theme.
Promoter of fog.
I really was looking forward to riding X-Flight when I saw it. After I got off it it seemed a bit of a let down. The concept seems cool, but it really wasn't all that to me. I wasn't comfortable and the ride seemed too tame, probably has to be for G-force and safety reasons.
If they had planed on getting ride of Demon Drop when Wicked Twister was installed I wish they would have put it there. I think it would have fit nice with one of the spikes being where the tower portion is. They could have saved that plot for a nice compact wooden twister. It would have fit nice with giant wheel and could have gave that area a little bit of a yesteryear feel. Of course they would have had to get ride of that big ugly warehouse to achieve that.
Jeff, (or anyone else for that matter) if Furius Baco is prome to seat vibration, I would suspect that adding "air shocks" for lack of a better term may help. Especially if the seats aren't rotating and just stationary. I think part of X's problem is having 4 rails - 2 more sources of vibration.
I would like to see a wooden roller coaster with the reverse element that is offered in RCT 3. With the reverse element, the train rolls into one section of track, that section turns around, and then you go through the ride in the opposite direction until another "element" or the end of the ride

Spinning coasters are also making it big right now. Can anybody say goodbye to the Aquatic Stadium and Peanuts Playground?
Seriously, I can see a spinning coaster coming to Cedar Point. They are very popular now, and that's because they're fun. I went to Waldameer Park on Memorial Day weekend, and I really loved the Steel Dragon. Rides like that are family-friendly, fun, relatively inexpensive, and can fit in a small footprint with a minimum of fuss. If one doesn't come to Cedar Point, then it would certainly be good at Geauga Lake.
Water is involved

How does anyone know that Furious Baco has vibration problems?
The 4D coasters do, but those rotate and are made by a different company.
