The most crowded you have ever seen CP

What is the most crowded you have ever seen CP? For me, it would have to be Saturday October 14, last year. I guess the combination of excellent weather and closing weekend results in massive crowds, because that was just incredible.

It's got to be last year in late August. It was the Monday before I went back to school. I think I only got to ride like 8 coasters.
I'd have to go with CP_bound, I was just leaving Sandcastle at 10 a.m. that morning. All the queues were full, and the traffic was lined up all through Sandusky.

Dude, It took us 2 hours to get to Sandusky that day, and took us 1 1/2 hours to get past the toll booths! That's crowded!
I remember July 4th 1980something was pretty darn crowded, since we parked on the grass under a tree, almost in the Bay.

Monday, May 25th of this year was fairly crowded. MF was down and out for the count, and Raptor and Magnum both posted 2 hour waits. It was the first time since Magnum open I remember going through the extra set of queue's behind the bathroom (I NEVER go on Fridays or Saturdays). The park was not crowded as is numbers, but just the type of people. Most were from schools on field trips so all the coasters were packed.

I got a couple hours in on Gemini though late in the day, so It wasn't that bad.

October 14th, 2000 is the most recent in memory.. admission gates were closed for a part of the day.

MF 2001 - ???????
There was a Saturday in August in '97 that made 10/14/00 seem like a weekday in May.

How do you know?

I thaught July 4th of 2000 was pretty bad compared to any amusement park i have ever been and i have been to alot of the amusement parks on the East Coast on the 4th of July but none can compare to Cedar Point so i am coming back again this year and going to stay longer
October 14,2000 that was the largest crowd i ever experianced at CP. I waited 2 hours for Magnum.

I would have to agree with Oct 14th. Thought the people would NEVER stop coming. Wait for Raptor was up to 2.5 hours, mobile queues open all day.
Rob can vouch for me that the queue lines were HORRIFIC to clean that night, I did what I could till around 1am, (sorry I had plans that night) then came back next morning to finish.
Makes you almost wonder why we have trash bins every 5-8' and obviousely people don't understand the "no smoking" rule. :(
I imagine the only thing worse than being an employee on that day was being one of the guests waiting on the lines!!

Got my chaps, whip and spurs--LET'S RIDE!!!
You know it's a crowded day when they start parking people on the grass..Oct 14th was one of those days if I recall correctly. It was an hour wait for a slice of pizza that day. Everything was a mess. Most of the seasonal staff was gone and they had local people filling in. I felt sorry for them. What was supposed to be a calm day turned out to be a zoo.

Get with it or die in the process.....
June 3rd of last year. There were a number of schools there (not including my own) and a bunch of marching bands. The line for MF was all the way to Snake River Falls. I didn't brave the line that day, for I knew that I would be returning later in the year, but my friend braved the line. He got to the midway point of the ramp into the loading station, and boom the lift breaks. We had to leave about 15 minutes later. Needless to say, he was fumed. Also that day, 45 min. lines for Gemini and almost an hour for Iron Dragon. Pretty crazy.

I'll go with Oct. 14, 2000. It was the most incredible crowd I've ever seen. When you have to wait forever for fries and a drink, you know it's crowded! It wasn't bad earlier in the day though. We practically walked right on Raptor around noon or so. But it was downhill from there!
You guys are right on the money with that 14th of Oct. date. If that wasn't a record crowd, I don't know what one would look like.
I remember when i worked there, it was August of 91. The meanstreak was new and the line started at the Gemini! Parking was full, they were parking them on the grass, along perimiter road and shuttleling in the guests to the entrances!
Yeah I remember that Saturday Dan...basically we walked in, struggled through the crowd to the Lost and Found, decided that if we couldn't walk without bumping into everyone every step that we took that it was too crowded, so we left the park and went back home.

I remember that Genesis! I believe that was June 6th, but everything else is correct. I was the friend that didn't get to ride MF. LOL, I can't believe I got so mad! But that was a very busy day. There were definately a lot of people there. The two of us made up that day though on a Sunday in August, 1 hour for MF all day, Magnum 15 minutes. Raptor was about 45, just about everything else walk-ons. Sorry for rambling...

At the turn of the Millennium, there were signs.
Yes, we sure did make up for it. On a lovely day in late July....hahahahaha Viva Millennium Force!

How do I know this? Because Cleo Told Me.

Actually for some reason I still thinks its 2000. My calendar revolves around CP, so until the new year (May 6th) rolls around, it feels like 2000.
