Cedar Point sells ice cream. So does SFWOA. I think one of them should get rid of ice cream and try something original. I mean, it seems I can get ice cream at any ol' amusement park. Doesn't Six Flags also have a Arrow looper? I don't have any reason to go to SFWOA because I can ride Corkscrew at CP. And both park's have Ferris wheels, too. How stupid is that?
I know! Maybe CP and SFWOA should start collaborating so that they both have completely different attractions. I think their Planning & Design departments should meet at least once a year to discuss plans.
The argument that a park shouldn't get an attraction because a nearby park has something similar is absurd. If you judge a park based on it's originality instead of it's ability to give you a great day and do something different and/or better, then you're not going to be going to very many parks.

Seriously, when did we get so many economists and operations specialists here? Give me a break, Cedar Fair as a company is a very profitable company that manages to nail awards annually for the best rides and capacity.
This is, since I've been following the park hard core (circa 1998), the best opportunity they've had yet to rake in the numbers. Why? Mark my words, they'll do a dual approach to marketing that will get attention. On one hand, Wicked Twister, a single ride that will not confuse the marketplace or promise the world, just dazzle the market with a hip campaign targeted to teens and 20-somethings. On the other hand, Snoopy on Ice with another slick campaign targeted to families that have 2.2 kids and might not make a trip to Orlando.
And just a friendly newsflash that John Q. Public doesn't even know about the existance of multiple boomerangs, Impulses, etc. I doubt most can even distinguish the average out-and-back wood coaster. Hell, in high school, I though Big Dipper and Blue Streak were the same ride!

Sure it is...But when it you keep expressing your so called opinion over and over again, it gets kinda boring dont you think. It's weird when you responded to Gemini in saying he/she doesnt get out much..Maybe its you who needs to get out some, cause of your opposition over a clone coaster. Like Jeff said, what rule says you CANNOT clone another ride from a nearby park. Its just a coaster, tohotse. geez.

So you mean like a "Roller Soaker?" j/k. It is a good idea though. Here's my 2 cents (or maybe 3): I was disappointed with both HersheyPark's and Cedar Point's announcement. I do love the ride at SFWOA, but i think CP needed something else. This ride plus, say a woodie, would have made for a great addition. I am not disappointed with WT itself, but CP needed something to add to this announcement.

But for $9 million, I can say without question that I never ever EVER want to see this ride go up at VF. Ever. I'd much rather see them build a Boomerang, an ST clone and hold on to the couple miliion bucks left over.
Just my opinion.
