It is reasonable to assume that for 2004, all of Cedar Point's coasters will have ASTM-compliant fencing.
Apart from that, I don't think anybody knows anything for certain...

I think they are an advantage too, because if you need to check over the train, it keeps people from loading the train before you finish checking it over.
Rides like Wicked Twister is really where they needed the air gates, because of the train going through the station 4 times during the course of the ride.
Seeing them on Raptor was a shock to me... It also shortened the front-row queue rails in the station... so 3 trains full can only fit in there... pissed me right off.
Back to the topic on hand... They're called idiot gates. They are there to keep idiots from darting in front of the train as it's pulling in. and the way society is going, we're getting dumber and dumber as we go along. I wouldn't be suprised if they gave us all an escort through the park, teaching us how to use the ride properly.
In all honesty, it's not for us coaster buffs, it's for the stupid guests of tomorrow.
I agree with the flamin colors on Gemini... looks like Gemini went gay (no offense to the gay population out there) I liked it better with the crappy brown than the bright purple, or pink...
Hopefully, they do an overhaul on Magnum over the winter... smooth out the track a little and hopefully they turn off the trim brake before the pretzel...

You know what? I actually like those gates... It keeps the spieler from having to say "Look down at your feet... If you are standing on the yellow line, step back. The Yellow line is my friend. Please don't stand on my friend"
Nah, air gates dont stop that. I remember ride ops telling people to stand behind the yellow line on a few coasters that had air gates.
