The Maverick

Hello Fellow Coaster Riders,I just Have one Question And Or Comment:
I would like to know if they have got the maverick together.
What i mean by this is that i have tried to ride it for over 2 years with 4 attempts at it and every time i get to the ride all i seen was the trains in the breaks sitting there with people in them and then they would be sitting there for at least a good half hour, then when they get the trains empty they would run it empty for about 2 hours then it would be the same thing over and over again.
The Reason i wanna know this is cause I'm going to the park this Saturday and I'm really looking forward to this ride,It looks really fun and i wanna have the same fun.
So could you all let me know whats up?
Thank You

It's been operating for the most part, allthough it has had it's share of downtime as well.

The problems they were having were more or less in the first year of operation.

I think odds are on your side.

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

It was not operating last night. I was also there Wednesday between 12-3pm and it was not working then either. I was told it was running later in the day Wednesday by a friend who was in the park. The weather last night between 8 and 10pm was wonderful. 3 train operation on everything and yet, Maverick was still down.

Welcome to PointBuzz. Please use more descriptive titles.

Well, I think the problem is that Maverick is a union coaster. As such, it is only required to "work" for about 15 minutes of every hour. The rest of the time it spends on breaks. Coffee breaks, s**t breaks, smoke breaks, lunch breaks. Its a really big problem. The good news is that the guvmint is gonna come in and re-write his contract for him so that he can't take so many breaks, so you should see a marked improvement in a few months when it is all worked out.

Um The Maverick is incorrect, the name of the ride is Maverick with no "the" in front. Must not be a cedar point regular.... Anyways. I have been to Cedar Point 3 times this year already and it has been in full swing every time. It dose have its moments but im pretty sure that Cedar Point has a grip of how handle the problems quickly now that she has been in operation for almost a full 3 years... I will be there for platinum pass ride night cant wait!!!

Wait I thought The Maverick had something to do with McCain and that Cougar Palin.

Who cares if someone puts a "the" in a ride name, I mean, seriously.

Welcome to Point Buzz. :) I havn't been to CP yet this year, so I'm not sure if The Maverick has had a lot of down time or not. I do remember when The Millenium Force opened it had a lot of issues as well. So I guess it just takes a few years for them to work out all of the kinks.

Yes I said "the" in front of the coaster's names. Like Josh said, who fricken cares. If you are that uptight, I feel really bad for you.

"You wanna, you gotta, you hafta hold on, Cedar Point...HOLD ON!"

I've been to CP four times so far this year and rode Maverick each time, but I think it was down at least one time each of those days.

I was in line Friday night near close when it went down for about 30 min. Then when I was driving out Perimeter Rd on Saturday evening around 7:30 there were two maintenance guys working about half-way up the launch hill.

Hope you get to ride it! It's a fun couple-o-minutes.

How much more weight loss will it take to get on Raptor, Mantis, MF and TTD?

It has been running fine for me. Yesterday (6/14) it seemed faster and more intense. In fact, I do not remember seeing it down this year in 9 trips. I hope runs good Thursday night.

I have up to the point several times this year and the Maverick is running great for me! I know last year I had my share of frustration to ride the Maverick! Either way, I love to ride the Maverick! It is a sweet ride!

Of course you don't see a problem with it. You're one of those "Ohioans" who put "the" in front of everything. The Maverick, The Ohio State University, The Toledo War (you guys lost by the way). You just don't see any problem with it. ;)

Wouldn't the correct pronunciation be "Maverick the Coaster?" :)

The Ohio State University did not arrive at it's name because of stupid Ohioans, The Juggalotus. It's actually the correct name. Stupid Ohioans mistakenly call it Ahiya State.

Having lived in Toledo for 24 years, I can agree that Ohio definitely did lose that "war".

I've noticed a lot of the nasty vibrations that Maverick had last year, especially in the back cars, are gone. Although I can't remember if those were there the whole summer last year or just toward the end of the season.
