Being powerful is an attitude, which you displayed in your obivously sacrastic and negative comment. Before the debut of the GL 2005 plans you implied you had inside information, thus making the impression you had connections. Its in your attitude, the way you talk to folks on here and coasterbuzz. Your reply to my first post personified the arrogant way in which you handle people's posts that have either a small error or are not gleaming with specifics. Your nine words didn't have to mention connections, power, or being wrong because your constant mean spirited replies imply it enough.
Its a shame that 2 of the best sites for amusement park information are run by someone who has zero tolerance for mistakes and seems to take pride in pointing out, flaws in people's opinions . Your reply to my post was unnessarily rude, a simple posting of the link to constrction pics would have been sufficient. Making a public display of someone's less than discrptive post is not in the spirit of fun. Good thing you don't work in the industry, because I could see you sucking the fun out of any property that would have you as an employee.
I can already see the reply, "If you don't like how I run the site then don't post here." So I'll save it, I'll stop posting here, because I see this all as fun, but to you its about having the power to point out mistakes and make people feel stupid.

Grow up, get a life, and move on. You don't have to post here.
Speaking of the lakeside midway, does anyone have a good picture of "The Wave"?

You don't know anything about me. But then again, that's what I'd expect from someone that could get that upset over nine words. Seriously, if you can't take criticism on the Internet, turn off the computer and give it to someone who can.
I make a couple dozen posts in a month and suddenly everyone is an armchair shrink and knows me like a brother. If you want to tell me I'm full of crap, knock yourself out, but don't pretend that you know me.
Anyway, regarding The Wave, it was one of the deepest pools I had ever seen at the time, maybe deepest still. The starting end of the waves was to the left as you were looking toward the lake. Unlike most modern wave pools that tend to be level with the ground, this thing was sort of a big hole. I think the left side was almost flush with the midway, but the right was significantly higher than the lake water level. *** Edited 12/26/2004 9:46:23 PM UTC by Jeff***

Heck, maybe they will re-route the monorail to its original route...
As far back as I can remember, to the seasons prior to the Wave, the monorail has always had the same layout. When did the monorail change it's route? The only change that I can recall is the roof's of the RV's being changed to an even more reto style.

The Parkview Express, as it used to be called, went through the middle of what is now the wave pool, I believe. Unfortunately, I had not been on the ride in many years prior to my operating it.
My guests pointed out to me where the monorail used to run, so I am only going by what seasoned GL veterans told me. Because of the current route of the monorail though, a lot of the trip is along Rt. 43, which is not very fun.
Personally, as much as I loved the monorail, I would love to see it replaced or rerouted. It is a great ride, that has lots of potential, given the right surroundings. Given that the wave pool will be removed for the 2006 season, there may not be much to see during the last part of the ride, depending on what replaces it. Personally, I would like the monorail to go through the middle of whatever is put there, as opposed to being along the road.

John McCain: The Ride
Being Mavericky since 2007!
Originally the monorail ran through Rainbow Island. With the placement of the wave pool in that area the last segment of the ride was "re-routed". As a result there is a curve right before you get back to the station that requires a painfully slow speed as to not wreck the train. The funniest part of the whole story is that when the ride was first re-done there was a major error in the track that caused the ride to be closed much of the 2000 season. Even funnier is the fact that that was one of the few jobs managed in house for the flagging of the park. Goes to show you how exceptional the maintenance staff was from Funtime (haha).
And before i get all the "it wasn't Funtime anymore, bla bla bla..."; the park was still primarily Funtime staff in 2000. The great purge wasn't until the merger in '01.
And for what it's worth i don't mind telling Jeff that he's "full of crap", and i appreciate the permission to contimue to do so. ;) But as a general point about internet massage boards, one should be ready for anything and everything. Afterall this is the ultimate guardian of our freedom of speach (after a fashion). However, i find that people are more like how they really are on-line because there is great sense of anonymity. One can say what they want to whoever they want without any remorse that comes along with saying mean things to someone else directly.
Oh yeah, the final jog in the monorail track! I don't know why I didn't notice it before. Maybe because the ride didn't run much under Six Flags and if it did it had painfully slow load times that prompted me to just avoided the ride all together. ;)

My fondest memory of the wave was Grad Nite of 85. I was a junior that year, but dated a senior so I could go. :) They had a large screen set up, and you sat in the shallow end of the wave, and watched Bull Durham. Pretty cool stuff. Forget what Grad Night 86 was like.
