The Greentree is evil and what really happened??

Hey all--Does anyone know why we were booted outta the Greentree? Personally, I liked the Econo Lodge a lot better...granted you had to walk outside to get from room to room, but the rooms were a lot nicer...I heard there were some kids naked in the jacuzzi...or we made too much noise...or who knows? Anyone? Bueller? It was great seeing everyone...I'll get the pics up soon.
Noise... I stopped over there Sat afternoon while out on one of my "should we really sober up or not" walks.

There were several noise complaints and the manager working wasn't there when it happened but had also heard the story of nakeness..

The main thing was noice, but of course new managagemtn and they probably had NO CLUE what they were in for.

I talked to the people at Econo on Sunday as we were leaving. THey actually had non-cp people staying there and not one complaint. We made their weekend because they actually had someone there. The housecleaning lady even commented that the rooms wern't trashed at all adn that we're all welcome back next year.

Alone.....

I am not going to comment on greentree, having a smarty pants cop barge into my room at 5am when im sleeping was not cool.  Anyways, my friends and I ended up at the budget inn and had a great stay there.  Later ~A
Once we were staying at Breakers Express the "SMARTY PANTS COP" you speak of busted into our room and he relised that when he saw my family he was in the wrong room!!!! The next door kids had just knocked the screen out there window to try to get t the pool that was CLOSED!!! I wasn't tooo happy to be awokn and having a cop standing in the room.

It is actually illegal for a cop to enter your hotel room without a search warrant.
Unless the hotel clerk calls the police to escort you out....  It is hotel property so the clerk can take any action they need.

Now if you go out and robs a bank then goes to a hotel, A police officer would then need to show the warrent for arrest to the clerk and be escorted to the room.

Can anyone back this up legally?  I'm not too much in the know about these sort of things.  Just some basic property owners things from contracts and agreements.

2002 - Something in the daytime... hopefully

I was a manager in a hotel and had several occasions to call the cops.  The only time the cop could enter the room with one of my keys was if there was sufficient cause...ie sounds of a woman being beaten up, sounds of furniture being broken, the smell of death, etc.

There are clauses that give management the right to enter rooms to clean, for repairs, etc but if a guest was supposed to check out at 11 and by 3:00 wasn't gone, I couldn't go in and pull all of their belongings out.  I could lock their door so that they had to come to the desk to get access back in.  Then I got to have some fun.

Now I will say, most of the time, a cop was able to talk the person we wanted into opening up the door and then the rules change.  You know, the old, "it will be easier for you now if you just open the door" routine.

like when you get pulled over and there's a hammer on the floor of your car.  "Why don't we put that in the trunk, since it could be considered a weapon?"
which translates to
"Why don't you put that hammer in the trunk with me watching so I can look for a REAL weapon without a warrant?"
:)

Just because I have a fast car, doesn't mean pull me over on my way to CP!
BHG:"If I don't believe in myself would that be blasphemy?"

If a party is getting the boot for a rule violation the police can be there in a peace keeping role and if need be enter the room to remove a party if they refuse to leave after management has gave them the boot.  If while and after you are leaving, anything seen in the room (if illegal) can be used against you.  Police need a search warrant for hotel/motel rooms when the person is still occup. the room and they are not being removed at the request of management.

Excuse me, where is the 10:00 Laser Show Presented by FirstEnegry??
Seems like Chief Wahoo has enjoyed a few "lock outs" in his day.  I personally love locking a guest out that needs to leave, they come down all upset and they will either leave or give me more money :) Calling the cops doesnt really do much good in the long run, in my opinion.  In the experiences I have had with cops and guests, the cops ask me more questions than the guest as in, what inn-keeper laws have they broken, blah, blah, blah.  In the end, the only thing it boils down to is a form of payment.  You got a credit card or cash, its tough to kick em out, at least thats what I have dealt with
Ahh...I only know Michigan Laws not Ohio laws.  Things may be different in Ohio in regards to when someone can get the boot.
Whatever The Case Is We Got Kicked Out And That Sucks But We Are Returning To The Greentree In Febuary For Mardi Gra And Weather They Like It Or Not We Will Be There Untill They Kick Us out Again!
Well they knew it was a party and they knew it was going be loud and it was their fault to put party people on the same floor with regular guests. But also there should have been a degree of respect for people that had to drive most of the day to get there and were tired and trying to sleep. I'm pissed off because not only were there people outside our door screaming and yelling but the hotel didn't bother to find out who was doing it. Therefore innocent people had to find other places to stay and spend more money that i'm sure they didn't plan on spending. And on top of that, they only kicked out people on the first floor. So I think most of the blame goes to the Greentree but a bit of it goes to the people who brought it upon everyone.
