The Gemini 100 Webpage

The webpage is up and running for the Gemini 100, please e-mail me or Dave to get your name added to the list. I selected the day of Monday June 11, it is the first week day that the park is open until 10pm and I think it will be dead enough to run four trains and we will be able to get it done no problem. Any suggestions please let us know!

Excellent off-season (aerial) photos!!!!!! The next time anyone thinks CP has a space problem they should look at these photos.
Wow! The ariel photos are great. :) I've never understood why CP doesn't offer professional ariel photos as souvenirs.

I did have one question. I just got word I've got the day off work, so I'm in. I was talking to my mom, telling her what we were going to do, to which she said "you're crazy." She then asked if it would be for a Guinness Book record, I said not that I know of, but my question is this. Is there any records that we would be breaking? Just out of curiosity more or less.

I have already had one huge disappointment with trying to break a Guinness record so I would say NO.

Then again for me it will be odd to spend an entire day in the park and not have one ride on magnum.

I here that, Dan. What about a park record? Would CP be up for anything that way. May be a decent PR move for them (or this site :) )

Just as a note: Guinness no longer keeps track of most number of rides on one coaster because of health reasons. Also the record was over 300 rides one day.
Why because of health reasons?

I think it is because they(Guinness) cannot get sued if someone gets sick...I was looking into breaking that record and that is how I found out...But I might break another record...
And that would be...

Do we want to know???.....:)
Well the general public will find out soon...
It may not be a world record, but we should at least make it seem a little worth while. We could get the Sandusky Register to do a story on it. With so many people signing up, it actually is turning into something of an event and just might interest them into doing a short little paragraph to throw into the last page of the paper. I don't live close, so I have no idea how to get in contact with them, but if anyone knows how, we should talk about this...

GHS: I think you should NOT advertise it to the community just yet. I'd let them know, and then have them do a story on it AFTER the event. If some group of people sees the story, you have have so many Gemini 100 volunteers that it makes getting 100 harder.

Just a thought.

I don't think it would be a problem unless there was more than two trainloads of people. I'd make sure that Gemini will be running two trains (red/blue), and have Dan call the person(s) who have interviewed him from The Register before. Just some thoughts. *** This post was edited by bobthetomato on 4/4/2001. ***
Have you made any provisions for breaks and such? I'm sure you may not want to be eating (obviously), but what about restroom breaks? It would be a good idea to organize the whole group to take a 10-minute break every 90 minutes or something, if possible. Just a suggestion! :)

Thats where the problems come in, for obvious reasons we can't reride. We can't line jump, we can not offend any of the regular park guests or improvise on any of the employees. WE MUST OBEY ALL OF THE PARK'S RULES AND REGULATIONS. DON'T WALK INTO THIS EXPECTING ANY SPECIAL TREATMENT.

Lets do the math, the park is open for 12 hours that means we must get atleast 8 rides an hour in. Keep in mind that when the ride does open at 10am they will be probably running only TWO trains and they will be running the red side only.

Also keep in mind that its obvious we have such a large group that we are not all going to get in the train at the same time. Single rides are going to hop in the train with other single riders. That is why we NEED to have a tally counter or set up some schedule for us to each take time out to be a tally counter.

The nice thing about the breaks is that the bathrooms are right next to the exit of the ride and the Happy Friar is nearby as well.

Things to keep in mind!
