The Future According to Intamin

The kicker wheels are what push the train out of the station or brake run. The ride begins when the kicker wheels start to move.

2005/2006: Cedar Point - Millennium Force
2007/2008/2009: Walt Disney World - Magic Kingdom - Tomorrowland Speedway
2008: Hard Rock Park - Maximum RPM! Opening Supervisor
2008/2009: Universal Orlando - Men in Black: Alien Attack Team Leader, Guest Services Coordinator

Ahh... I never knew what to call those. Now I know. Thanks:)

They hear what the local news station tells them. Which, like the park usually tells us, isn't the full story.

My favorite is when a station will tease something like "Could Cedar Point be deadly? Your favorite summer vacation destination could be a real killer!" for a story about how someone cut their finger while cutting steak at the campground at night or something moronic like that.

I hate the media.

I will take a B&M over an Intamin anyday.

And I'll take an Arrow over an Intamin any day. Too bad my #2 Steel is an Intamin, one where a rider was killed last year.

BTW, My #1 is an Arrow, and my #3 is an Arrow/Morgan

John McCain: The Ride

Being Mavericky since 2007!

Intamin is a pioneer but they aint that great of a pioneer! Sure they build great rides but they kill people and have rides break in the process! Its amazing how Intamin survived and arrow didnt, Arrow had a bright future with X but now they are with S&S and S&S isnt a risk taker like intamin! Thats also another thing i like about intamin!

Get used to Intamin coasters, they'll keep adding more. B&M refuses to build at Cedar Point anymore (sits and waits for "thats complete BS comments"). B&M has major issues with CP's maintenance dept. for not putting a building over Mantis' transfer table to keep the trains in good shape. Think about it, how many B&M's have you been on that don't at least have a roof over the transfers? Intamin is the only company out there right now willing to push the limits that Cedar Point wants. Thats why the LIM lift ala California Screamin 500 footer for 2007 will be Intamin. From what I hear it may ascend at 35-40 mph.

Bye bye WWL
Bye bye Antiques
Bye bye Wave Swinger
Bye bye Undertaker U

Cedar Point really shouldn't leave open blueprints sitting right next to windows afterhours. And no, there was no trespassing, the head maintenance office just happens to have a window facing the courtyard in the Gold dorms.

Just wait and see...

Power Tower Crew 2005
1 summer was more than enough.

Intamin AG, THANK YOU FOR ALL THAT YOU DO

-What amazing attractions this company has designed and built. Attractions covering a spectrum MUCH LARGER than roller coasters. Yes, it is most unfortunate a few people have died while experiencing a thrill on a Intamin. Unfortunately, maybe not on an Intamin, it will happen again.

Rapids ride: did they not invent it?

drop towers: thank you!

300' + 93mph @ 80degrees! WoooooWhOOOO!

THANK YOU :)

Oh please. Seasonals have been saying that for ages and it's still crap. A company doesn't turn down millions of dollars of business for the sake of satisfying their ego, to say nothing of the fact that they've built four rides at other Cedar Fair parks since. Hydra, the newest one, has no cover over the transfer either, and that was built this year.

Where do people come up with this ridiculously stupid and irrational nonsense?

Jeff - Advocate of Great Great Tunnels™ - Co-Publisher - PointBuzz - CoasterBuzz - Blog - Music

How is it irrational? Your totally right, they have built four B&M's at OTHER parks since, none at Cedar Point. Cedar Fair isn't deciding what to put in each park. Each park is given a budget to work with and decides what to do with the money. Basically each individual park decides what company/type of coaster they want to get, not the parent company. But hey, what the hell would I know right? Its not like I spent countless nights at Louies with people in Maintenance and management all summer long, O wait I did. Seriously Jeff, you really need to realize theres a lot you don't know about seasonals and their relationships with people in management.

But... that just seems so trite and idiotic. Businesses have one primary function: TO MAKE MONEY!

Why would B&M refuse to build another coaster at one of the premeir coaster parks ON EARTH?!?!? Because their trains got dirty??? C'mon... not for a second do I believe that...

Brandon

Don't then, just wait and see. More and more Intamin.

djDaemon's avatar

Well, yeah, there will be more IAG. But, to say thats because B&M is pouting cause their trains got dirty is... ridiculous! What the **** would B&M care?!? The GP usually doesn't know who designed a ride, so its not like it would affect their reputation! Besides, what happens to the rides after they're built is CP's responsibility.

Thats like saying Ford doesn't want you to fart in your car, cause they don't want people to think their cars smell like a**.

Ejector you don't know what you are talking about. Cedar Fair purchases the rides and chooses what to put in each park, not the park.

What's the point of owning a park if you're making no decisions on what is put in? B&M would work with most of the same people whether or not they're putting in a ride at Knott's, WoF, MiA or Cedar Point. Same development guys, same people working out the compensation deal.

And 19 year olds need to realize there is a lot that they dont know about running a business.

Seriously, if B&M refuses to build at parks that dont cover theyre transfer tracks, they will not only hurt theyre reputation but they will quickly go out of business. Apolo's Chariot barley even has a station, its more like a tent.

And just because Cedar Points next coaster may not be a B&M does not mean that they will never build a B&M in the future.

And if you have seen blueprints (doubtfull) for a new ride, tresspassing or not, as an employee of a company, divulging company secrets is grounds for dissmisal at about 99.9% of most companies out there.

And 100% of CF parks...

Brandon

j2k95sunfire, I don't work at the park anymore, don't plan on working there again. One summer was enough.

I'll go run along now and play with my lego's since I'm obviously just a stupid kid to you.

And for your information, I'm a 3rd year business major with a minor in economics on the honor role. Not to mention I manage my family business part time, n00b. In the 6 years I've been on this site I have yet to have anyone make an assinine comment about my age until now.

I'm going to the park...

Anybody that seriously uses the word "n00b" automatically looses respect from me.

Come on guy, you got to be kidding me... right? You don't have to lie to kick it with the rest of us. It's ok... we will be your friend.

Let's pretend for a moment...

I am John Employee at HUGE ULTRA BEST AMUSMENT PARK 8 years in a row. I just happen to find out by some CRAAAAAZY accident about the new 10937465 ft coaster. I run to Point Buzz and spill the proverbial beans...

I would no longer be able to type my silly crazy blue print story to you after telling you all what I saw, because crazy park will have sued me and taken everything I own. Why? Well, I signed a contract that is still legal after I leave. Which was not only a contract but also a confidentiality agreement.

Yeah, don't ask why I'm not wearing pants. They sued them off of me...

See why this is not really believeable?

OK, back on topic once again, IAG is going to be putting in many coasters around the world for the same reason some people hate them. They are willing to take a risk and put in a 400+ foot tall roller coaster while (insert favorite coaster company here) wont. This company(back to Intamin), that according to some, isnt pionnering new technology brought you the #1 steel rollercoaster in the world. It also brought, for two years straight, the tallest and fastest rollercoasters in the world. And unfortunately, people still do not think Intamin is a pioneering company. What a sad, sad world we live in. I will now return to my post emptying trash bins.
