The Footprint

According to what I have seen and gather, this ride will most likely launch from the former Trokia and up a top hat. Then approach the station and probably enter an overbanked turn over the lagoon. From here it is anyone's guess. Am I wrong?

We might see a normal tophat like on Xcelerator, but you do know how Cedar Point likes having straight drops on their coasters, right? :)

The thing I'm curious about is how long the launch is going to be. Personally, I would like to see a nice tunnel for the launch area (twice as long as Xcelerator). But we all k now this isn't going to happen!!

If part of the launch area was covered and could some how fit with the ride that would be cool. But I imagine we'll be going too fast to even notice.

Maybe they plan on having it covered and the white track will be put inside, they could then bounce colored light off everything and mist the opening.

The white track isn't for the launch (from what I've seen so far)There is no track for the launch mechanism in the white track, or any of the red track that I've seen so far. Remember that the launch track has another track inside it for the launch mechanism, kind of like the lift on Millie.

I have a feeling that the footprint will look more like than Xcellerator than anyone has yet to realize...

i really think and hope it would start out as an Xcelerator tophat...but then would continue over the lagoon on to the island

All of the construction and surveying that I've seen is in two parallel lines and nowhere else. Looks like a very narrow footprint to me.

Then why did they clear all the land on Millennium Island. Or did they not. I hope that it's not an "exact" taller clone of Xcellerator. Variety is key here, even if the two rides are over a thousand miles apart.

I'm not saying it will be a clone, but if you mirror Xcellerator's layout, for the most part, it fits quite well.

You guys might be surprised and get an out and back coaster with a bunch of hills..just an unusual first drop..

What I was most surprised about is how far back the clearing goes, all the way almost down by Iron Dragons twisted finale. I'm sure they just didn't feel like knocking those tree's down around there for the hell of it. So the footrprint is very long, but not too wide unless they plan on going island hopping.

But there is a land bridge made to go to the island for some reason...and they are cuttin down trees around there...and even those markings on the Midway..

Those markings on the midway are points to set up survey gear. The surveyers set up their stuff and line up the center of their equipment over top of the little nail that's pounded into the cement.

CPJigga, there are two land bridges going to the island to make a "dam" on each end. They are draining the lagoon here temporarily to put in a metal dam next to the shoreline It's needed to fill in dirt where water once was so they could put in some more footers. Mr. Coaster, launch will be long, it will start across from Corkscrew entrance and continue to front of yellow tower. Joe E., as for the trees being cleared by Iron Dragon's "twisted finale" (across from Power Tower/Super Himalaya), this will be needed for the ride entrance and cueue lines I believe. No land has been cleared on the island and no track will go over to it. Sorry to disappoint.

That whole no land being cleared on the island thing is the first thing that you've said, CPfan76, that I've agreed with so far. :)

CPfan76, You just dont get it, do you? (said in a Dr. Evil tone) You think its a reverse free fall. Correct me if I am wrong about that. There may not be any footers now on the island but it is WAY too early in construction to tell where things will go. I am not saying I know where everything will go but I am not going to flat out say something is not going to happen. The person that knows the most about the ride, Jeff, has basically given everything away. I may not agree with all of his comments but i do respect what he has to say about what Cedar Point plans are and from what he has said it is a huge Rocket Coaster. So, believe what you want but i think you will be the one dissapointed.

Don't forget, it also has places for brakes to pop up after the train passes over them. You're right, none of the launch mechanism/track is visible if it has even arrived yet.
