The end of the Cedar Point season is near!

I hate this time of year, next week Cedar Point starts to close earlier, with each and every day the air grows cooler and the sun shines shorter.  Before you know it Cedar Point will be closed for the Winter! (Booh Hooh!!!)  Get your riding in now folks before it is way too late!  At least there is a little time left in August and a few days in September to ride, but then comes Halloween Fest!  Ride Ride Ride Folks.......  This is the last regular saturday Cedar Point is open 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 Midnight!  Take advantage of this day before it is way too late.  I know I will.  For all of you young guns out there, school is around the corner, I know that all sick feeling.  Get used to it, because when you turn thirty, you get that feeling everytime you go to work in the morning!
Yep, it's true! I was at school today, getting my classroom ready for the kids. We start school a week from tomorrow. With regards to CP, we have plenty of time to ride. There is still the end of this month, September, Millennium Mania, and Halloweekend! :)

Yeah, it's true, and I do not like to hear it...

"Would you like some mist?!"
Well, you are sad that CP is beginning to close and you have to use the next months wisely, I start school tomorrow, in less than 12 hours, and I won't be able to go to CP anymore. :(
We still have 2½ months. Be thankful we dont close Labor Day.
Sniff. . . if it weren't for school, I would never stop riding!
Hey, the park is open through the end of October...the latest its ever been open, be thankful. If they were to extend the season by opening in mid-April (it's warm enough by then) the winter would seem shorter. Problem of course is finding people to work that early in the season.
There is still plenty of time yet even though the season is becoming shorter.  Take advantage and enjoy it don't think about the end.  Although, what to do without a ride on Mean Streak.

I love that large wooden structure!
You see so many red trains on rollercoasters everywhere but you very rarely see gold trains, that is why I enjoy it so much.  It is just different.
Actually.. we just hit the 100's as far as operating day #'s go.. and the season is 180 days long...

I've got two more trips planned - MM and closing day (it's tradition!).

How many more trips do you have planned, Rob?

Without upstops, airtime would have a whole new meaning!

How is closing day, is it something special. Do you ride a certain ride to close it down for the Winter and go immediately to that ride on opening day?  Is it crowded on closing day?

Closing day is special to me. It ends our regular coasting season. We will probably fly to Florida or California (X?) during the off season, but that really doesn't count.
We used to close it down on Magnum, but not last year...
It's usually not very crowded. And the weather usually isn't very good. But the park does have a neat "feel"...kind of bittersweet. It was a kick last year watching all the maintenance guys lined up on the MF platform. What a year it must have been for them.

Bittersweet certainly is the word. A lot of staff and guests shed tears at various points. It's almost hard to believe how bad it hurts when the season's over.
As they say, it's not over until it's over the top!!!!!!!! This is the last time you can say you rode the rides on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or thursday
