65,000. Yes 65,000 people showed up yesterday. It was the busiest day of the year and the park had to stop letting people in because of state occupancy laws. Yes the title was true the busiest day of the year was yesterday. AH where to begin??? Well to start if you were part of the early entry, you wont be taking any benefits. The wait for millennium before the park opened at 12 was 1 and a half hours!!!! Later in the day the line stretched through all queue lines and out the entrance. It went all the way back to the photos. The time for the wait time clock was off the chart at 3 hours but was actually 4 hours. This means if you got in line at 8 P.M you would get off at 12 not counting the front row wait. Top thrill was also terrible. All queue's were filled and stretching back to the station outside it. People say it was about 3-4 that they had. My wait was none because I didn't ride it. Also I was here today Oct 17 and still crowded but I talked to single rider chris. He told me the dragster was going until 4 am last night. Peopl get in line at 11:59 P.M and get out at 4 am!!!!!!!!!! Insane! I walked out yesterday and came back today. Not much better. Millennium was 2 hours and top thrill was pushing 1:30 minutes. I guess it was half of yesterday but it still was a lot. Oh yea, the Asylum for Halloweekends was 5 hours!!!! Yes 5 hours!!!! How can you wait that long. Oh well, I may try to go next friday.
Does anyone know if Fridays in Halloweekends much better? Thanks and don't go to Cedar Point ever on a Saturday!!! Ever!
This Friday was pretty darn busy too. No walk ons really. It definitely wasn't as busy as Saturday though, thankfully. We're gonna try for a trip next Sunday for our season grand finale, hopefully it isn't too busy. We decided to skip closing day since it falls on Halloween.
Just another coaster junkie at Point Buzz
this friday was actually pretty slow, we had dead patches in the fright zone which almost never happen this late in the season. as a general rule friday is the slow because of high school football and what not.

S.T.A. - died with the Fright Zone
This past Friday seemed slow in the zones, but I don't know what the rest of the park was like.

I left the park shortly after 1 AM, and no coasters were still open at that point, so that's not true.

NO WAY!
According to my courtesy corps guide, Cedar Point has never closed the gates because of reaching maximum capacity. I thought CP didn't have a maximum capacity...but hey, 65,000 people is A LOT of people!!!

Yes, Saturday was insane. I've never been to Halloweekends and I kept saying "No way this is the norm".
I did go Friday and we hit ALL of the haunts except for Club Blood, and that was because we didn't know it was there. Ended up waiting about 1 1/2 hours Saturday for it.
Cornstalkers had no line and nobody was there when we hit that towards 11pm Friday. We walk in and it is completely dead which made it look more eerie with the fog machines and quietness. We were thinking "Alright they must be off already" thinking it would be a walk in the park and then they started coming out of the walls and it was the best haunt of them all. They were all working for us it seemed.
Towards the end we go to the exit sign and are walking on that wooden path after going up the stairs thinking it was over when I should have realized it wasn't when we were walking directly at this blinding light. Of course I was leading and then this dude busted out inches from my face and startled the **** out of me. I got discombobulated for a minute and couldn't see anything walking in some random direction then that screamster pops up over my shoulder and says all ghoulish "Your going the wrong wayyy". At that point I'm laughing "Ok cool thanks!".
It had been about five years since I'd been to Halloweekends, but I decided to give it a shot last weekend. I knew Saturday was going to be ridiculous, but as those above have noted--it was packed beyond my imagination. My family and I decided to eat at 3:30 and even at that awkward time in the day, we had to wait for a table at Joe's Cafe.
With that said, the wait for TTD was 1:45, which wasn't so bad; MaXair was around 45 minutes, and at the end of the night Blue Streak and Power Tower were walk-ons. Another plus was seeing the wait for rides like Gemeni, Disaster Transport, Wildcat, and Iron Dragon so long (I waited about 45 minutes for Gemeni). I didn't go near Millennium Force with it's 3+ wait time.
The worst parts of the day were going through Fright Zone and trying to leave the park after closing--it took 45 minutes just to exit the parking lot onto the causeway.
Sunday, however, was much better. There weren't many walk-ons, but wait times were down considerably, especially given the nice weather. For roller coasters like Magnum and Raptor, wait times were about fifteen minutes. TTD was down to an hour. I rode Millennium Force twice when the park opened with not much wait. After seven o'clock, it seemed, everybody started to leave the park. That was nice.
On these busy saturdays do the lines stay up around 3 hrs all the way up until midnight or do they die down a little bit after 10 or 11?
Things die down a lot later in the evening. Most people won't get into a 2-3 hour line at 9 or 10 PM. Plus I imagine once the scare zones open they draw away a lot of the crowds.
This was my first Halloweekends trip in a few years. I used to do Friday evening and Saturday every year, from 2001-2007, and over that time observed it going from a good light-crowds time to go to the park to as busy as a Saturday in August. This year I could only make it out to CP once, and I decided to do starlight on October 16 and all day on the 17th.
I entered the park around 5:30 p.m. on the 16th and it was without a doubt the worst crowd I've seen in all my years going to Cedar Point. I only rode a few rides that night, and instead spent the evening taking photos as proof of the craziness. I got a picture of Iron Dragon's sign announcing an hour and a half wait. But the best of all is that around 7 p.m. I got a photo of Corkscrew's sign claiming a 2 hour wait -- and TTD's sign announcing the same wait a few minutes later.
Fortunately Sunday was much better, keeping it from being a wasted trip, and now I can forever after tell people the legend of the Two Hour Corkscrew Line.
I would love to see those pictures if you have them online somewhere.
