From what we saw this weekend, the area over near Frontier needs much more foot traffic to make it more productive ($$$). At noon on Saturday the area was almost reminiscent of Ghost Town.
We have no figures on the Cedar Creek Mine Ride, but to most coaster crazies, that ride has been a joke for years. If it was my park, I'd put the entrance back by that area and do away with CCMR if necessary. Let's face it, not many of us run to CCMR at gate opening. With the new ride's entrance back there, it will be a draw for lots more people and give a shot in the arm to the business attractions in that area. Also, it would spread out the crowds a bit more which is always nice.
It looks possible from the maps and air shots. And just think how far MF entrance is from the big hill where all of the initial construction was done. The area of concentrated initial construction is not necessarily the entrance or station.
What do the rest of you think?

Coaster enthusiasts make up a very small percentage of Cedar Point guests. Not every ride needs to be a thriller to have a legitimate home at the park. Some coaster enthusiasts may want to get of Mine Ride, but I bet there are at least a few non-coaster enthusiasts who could care less about Millennium Force. Shouldn't the park offer something for everyone?
I wonder how far attendance would drop next year if coaster enthusiasts were the ones who decided Cedar Point's future. Balance is good.

I completely agree with the need for balance.

I believe the entrance will be either somewhere close to Corkscrew's station, or somewhere by the current John Deere display they have now.
The station will be in the vicinity of Troika, and launch towards Area 51 where there will undoubtably be a massive tophat.

What? Enthusiasts are wrong, or worse yet, not the center of the universe? Gasp!

I don't see it going anywhere near Mine Ride. That midway was all repaved the year Camp Snoopy was put in and the area from Corkscrew to Magnum is pretty beat up. I just hope they don't touch the John Deere display, it's the whole reason I come to the park.

Why would that be the only reason you go to the park? Anyways, I still would love to see some part of this ride travel over the midway, even the launch. I doubt that would happen though, its probably too loud.------------------
