Taxes

Hi! What sholud by my hour payment after taxation? Before it is I think 7.25$/hour. I am from Europe so I donĀ“t have any idea about USA tax systems.

It is $7.30 before taxes but I have no idea what it is after you take them out. There are a few taxes they have to take out but it is different for a lot of people.

I would figure that you will lose about 20-25% of your check to taxes. It may end up being less, but it's a good estimate.

I believe Ohio Min. Wage is now $7.40.

Taxes will vary depending on your residency status and your work visa. HR should be able to provide you with more info.

Min wage is $7.40 for non tipped employees and $3.70 + tips for tipped employees. The min wage is $7.25 for employees that are 14 and 15 years of age. For taxes, you should expect about 20% to be taken out of your gross pay.

You should also remember that you'll have housing taken out of your paycheck as well. So that will also decrease the amount you get in your pay check.

20% held up front is usually a pretty good estimate, although most people will likely get a bunch back on your end of year tax return unless you do something strange on your W-4. But I don't know how that works coming from overseas.

I think you can get away with not filling out your W2 for state taxes. At least that's what I did last season. I just put "not a Ohio resident" and I only had federal taxes deducted every pay period.
