Talon-uh-Raptor Jo goes CP'in 05-23

Thanks to having a day off and beautiful weather I decided to head up to CP. Arrived before parked opened (shocker yes I know) to see tons of school buses and pretty much every senior from here to Cincinnati and back. By the looks of the lines to get in I thought the park was going to be packed. That thought was proved wrong once gates opened. My 1st stop was Raptor-2 laps-flew great! (and NO crack thump I was listening) My 2nd stop was a lapel pin search, bought 2 Raptor ones (ok-really 3 :)) and all the others except for Gemini Jr, and some other stuff--there went another $35.00 invested in CP goodies again. (BTW for anyone who cares the new park maps are finally in!) Headed for the PR office to say hi (also decided my dream job would be the receptionist position in that office, of course you know I'd be kicking the sky during lunch ;)) then off to ride I went. I decided to head to WT to check out the line-30 minutes so rode it. Listening to the people in line amazes me, especially when it comes to the swaying of the tracks. I told one person it only sways 4-6'-he told me I was wrong and by the looks of it it is more like 25'. Yes, he's right and I'm wrong-why would I know what I was talking about? ;) Last seat-great ride! That was lap 24 for me. Saw Kelly, Chris and Seth there too. When I passed MF I decided to try the freeway thing, got a stamp for 2-3 ride time and off I went. I pretty much did more walking around than riding, skipped MS, and Gemini, hit Maggie up for a couple of laps, she was running awesome. Back to Raptor for a lap then to MF for my freeway ride. Wow-10 minutes and "legal cutting" pretty cool! I got to ride with a virgin who screamed like a girl the ENTIRE ride, when we stopped I asked him how he liked it he said" it was alright".
WT died around 1:20-mechanical....
I ate lunch then grabbed my camera and tried to find that perfect picture. Even walked clear down the boardwalk to Maggies turn around, and clear back to WT. With 1 roll of film done decided to hit up Raptor some more. I ended up power riding a few laps before I met up with Matt and his g/f. I ended up with a total of 7 more Raptor laps and finally seeing some crew members I knew. Funny thing was I didnt know 2 of them but they knew who I was! Go figure! :) At 6:30-still no WT. It was even raining some and for one second got chilly. Lucky for us that was short lived and the skies cleared out by time park closed. We walked over to MF to team up with Tony who we found on MFs line and who was beyond estatic words being "blessed" ;) getting the yellow train. We did a lap on BS which is just running too awesome! We headed back to WT in time to see it up and running again so we jumped on. Matt and I got last seat, again another great ride. Tony rode train after us--last seat. We took advantage of the weather breaking and took some WT pics. Tony and I made a last ditch effort of one more lap to no avail....no Wicked Twister for us! :( Line closed :(
Had a great solo day hanging at my fav place on earth. It was also great seeing Matt, his g/f and Tony. We talked about CM which got me excited-gonna be a great time again this year I can tell !!!! :) :) I was blessed with awesome weather, lack of crowds and later in the day great company. Oh yea and 7 more Raptor flights too! :)

For drive home there was a "convoy" of 8 of us heading to Columbus, it was kind of cool since we all left the park at the same time and ended up going our "own ways" only after we all got on Rte 23. See-Im not the only one who drives that far to go to CP! (but I'll bet ya none of them go 15x/season! ;))

I beg to differ on the crack. Riding it wednesday night, it was still there, only on the left mind you. But I know I heard something, and not the normal B&M smoothness. Not that the crack is rough, just not normal. And there you have it Jeff, the two Raptor diehards are arguing if the crack is there or not. :)

I wish I couldv'e been there the 23rd. My sister's school was going, and I was completely anxious the who day. Knowing that you could be at Cedar Point, and are stucj in school isn't the best feeling.

CP is the best!! I will never stop loving it. You gotta, you wanna, you have to hold on Cedar Point HOLD ON!!! :) :) :)

MagnumGurlie, try going to CP and still feeling like you are in school! That's how it was for me when we went for Physics Day. I was doing math the whole day and barely got in any rides!

I definitely have to agree with Hooper that the crack is there, BUT only if you ride on the left. I rode on the right and felt nothing, but as soon as I rode the left, I heard it. You don't feel it as much as hear it.

It was great hooking up with you Jo, a blast as always. I hope your pictures turn out great for ya. I'll have to listen for that noise on Raptor. You and Hooper are the experts though. Can't wait for Coastermania!!!!
