T-minus 7-days and counting, what's your opening day strategy?

So, we are a little over 7-days away from opening day to the worlds greatest amusement park. I know what my opening day strategy is, what's yours?

I know this, can't wait to get my ride on!!!

I wish I could go opening day, im going on May 20th. My plan is to get there early to get my season pass stuff done.

Don't really have a strategy. Just hoping it won't be raining. :P

ride MF and TTD,with hopefully short lines because most will be at GtKpr.

Going up Friday night to process my pass. Going to OSU day, going to bed, then waking up and going to the beach entrance on Opening Day, and bolting for Gatekeeper as soon as early entry let's us go in.

How long is the expected wait for Gatekeeper on opening day?

I'm sure the line will pretty much be full all day with people wanting to try out the brand new ride.

I'm sure it will be lengthy, but hoping with early entry, my strategy to get in line right away before the general public and wait minimal time then hope that the rest of the rides in the park and empty with everyone riding Gatekeeper! We shall see!

Go on everything but Gatekeeper assuming the GK line will be ridiculous.

Get on Dragster first, and contemplate fast pass.

I'm not going, I'm taking my daughter to Kalahari instead (I got an awesome discount offer from Kalahari I couldn't pass up). She's 44 inches tall and has outgrown the kiddie rides, but can't ride coasters yet, and all she wants to ride are coasters, so Cedar Point is just torture to her.

That said, if I WERE going my strategy would be; see how long the Gatekeeper line is. If it's long, do everything else in the park I want to do, then get in line for Gatekeeper.

It doesn't matter if it has a long line if you get in line at the end of the day. They keep rides open after park close until line is empty.

Plus, I'm willing to bet that it'll still eat through people. Maybe not to the extent that Diamondback eats people, but still close.

First I found out I wouldn't be able to go to Media Day. Then OSU day. And I now I found out I won't be able to go on opening day too. At least I'll still be having fun by celebrating my little cousin's 1st birthday, so I guess I'll go the day after opening, on Sunday.

^ I'll be there on that Sunday if you want to meet up. Don't worry dude, I've had missed opportunities too so I know how you feel. Plus, your cousin only turns 1 once and that is more important. ;)

My opening day strategy is the same as every year. Wait until Monday and enjoy walk-ons all week long. I expect 30 -45 minute Gatekeeper waiting times. :)

3 words. Fast. Lane. Plus. Haha

Gate opens at 8:30 for resort guests and platinum passholders. I'll probably try to show up at the Wicked Twister gate around that time and head over to the Gatekeeper Plaza for the ribbon cutting ceremony and hop on GateKeeper straight from there. After that it will depend on lines.

Skipping opening day and will be there Thursday and Friday for some coaster loving, Fast Lane Plus on Friday because we just don't want to have to stand in line with the school kids ;)

Haha yeah, and the more I think about it the more I'm glad I won't be there on opening day. Sure it's exciting, but I think it will be PACKED.

I'll be there may 15th-18th, and my plan is to hit Gatekeeper during the early entry in the mornings.
