Sunglasses?

I am going to be lifeguarding at Soak City and wanted to know if it's worth it to get nice sunglasses? (I was thinking some Ray-Bans) Or should I just bring a few cheap pairs? Advice would be appreciated! Thanks =]

you can get whatever you like but they can't be any crazy colors and the lenses cannot be mirrored

I am Glad this question was asked, my son got a job as a Ride Host, and wearing sunglasses didn't even enter our minds about what he should get.

Is it a good idea for Ride host to have sunglasses, or are they not allowed, or are they required?

GATEKEEPER-I came, I rode, I was mildly disappointed; until a second ride (rear left) put GateKeeper back on the...it's a nice ride list.

If he has a ride with a covered platform probably not...If it's a small ride without shelter, they're incredibly handy. Cheaper the better, you'll break them, bend them, drop them etc.

Thanks Bcraighead. :) He's assigned to the Wildcat, but obviously that won't be the only place he will be at this year.

I worked Maverick last year and sunglasses were beyond necessary! Unless your ride is completely covered like Millie, you're probably gonna need sunglasses. I went my entire summer with a couple pair of Ray-Bans and the only ones I ever injured were my brand new ones the day after I bought them because I set them down for one second and a breeze blew them off the rail and scratched the lense. But that was my fault, I shouldn't have set them down there where its so easy for things to blow off.

You may want to spend a little bit extra and get a pair that are polarized instead of simply tinted. They will give your eyes a little bit more protection from the sun.

Speaking from experience from working Wildcat last year sunglasses are a MUST! I'm from the philosophy of having on or two great pairs because your going to want the quality to protect your eyes. Even if the only time you can wear them is when your off platform walking to a break area.

Dont get big ones.... You'll look like a raccoon. I see it every season. Girls wanna be fashionable and look cute but as soon as they take them off to go to the club where u probably prefer to be cute over work, you have ravvoon face. I cant help but to laugh at them! :)

I bought a pair of Polarized Foster Grants from Wal Mart for like 10 bucks...They've lasted me 2 seasons...
