Sundays

This is sometimes a sensitive topic for both employers and employees, so I was wondering if anyone had anything to say about it.

If someone wants to go to church on Sundays, are they able to ensure that their schedules would allow that to happen?

Can you "request" that you have later shifts each Sunday so you are able to go?

If you have anything to say. . . I would appreciate it!!

This is from a book that I seem to read a lot:)

Devotional services are conducted most Sundays in the Breakers East Conference Center. Complete schedules will be posted. These services are held for the convenience of our employees.

Don't know if that helped you or not Live E. As for requesting later shifts on Sundays, i'm not really sure.

I remember last year reading there was a catholic service at 8am for employees and guests held at Breakers East. This would allow guests to be in the park when it opens I'm asuming. Dont remember reading about any others though, but I have a memory like a sieve, infact, I'm surprised I remembered that.

Hey Live E, I'm pretty sure most would be willing to work with you on that topic. I'm not catholic but I still plan on going to the services this year.

Sundays tend to be the least busiest day, so it's not a huge deal.

There used to be a Catholic service and a non-denominational service. Don't know if both still happen or not.

Disney eliminated their on-property religious services last earlier this year.

I'm pretty sure it's a Catholic service only and there are two of them, one at 8am and one at 10am.

Back to the Breakers this summer! :)

Yeah, your supervisor's will definitely work with you on that. Sundays are usually not so bad. One of my employees was very religious, she even prayed at the register quite often, anyway, she was able to make Sunday her day off every week.

I have never been there myself but I do know where its at. It could be in walking distance, if you really like to walk;) But you would want to get a ride/drive there. Its not really that close.

Not only have I been there, I got married there. It is probably less than 8 miles from the park. Take first street into town and then turn right on Columbus Ave.

It is a big, beautiful, traditional church. Pews aren't that comfortable but other than that it is fine. If they still offer Mass on the peninsula it would be just as convenient though.

This is sweet, cuz I'm Catholic and I was kinda worried about missing Mass on Sunday if I go to work at CP.

8 miles?!?! It is,definitely, less than 8 miles. It's only about 12 blocks from the causway to Columbus Ave. on 1st St. I used to live in Westchester when I was a kid. I've rode my bike through there many times, as that was the route I took to get to the CP Ferry which is at the end of Columbus Ave. There are 3 or 4 churches around there, so I'm not sure which one we're talking about. But, it would probably take about 10-15 minutes on a bike, by my experience anyway. Hope this helps.

First Street does not even intersect or touch Columbus Ave. Columbus Ave runs parallel to Milan RD (RT 250). Columbus Ave starts in downtown Sandusky and runs south past Perkins Plaza, Erie County Jail, and Erie County Fair Grounds. First Street only runs from Monroe Street to the Water Works down by Louies. Columbus Ave is aprx. 3 miles from where Causeway DR crosses First Street.

You can see First Street, Monroe Street, and Columbus Avenue here.

It's only 8 miles if you take the Long way which is this, but that would be dumb to do!

Yes, 99er, you are correct that Columbus does not intersect 1st St. (Dougster eats crow. It's much easier while it's warm.) As I said, I "used" to ride my bike that way. What I was missing was the merge from 1st to Monroe. But, the 10-15 minutes is about right. I had a pass the year Demon Drop was installed, and practically lived at CP. And, this is how I went because I dang near got ran over on the Causway. Dumb stuff kids do, right? Ahh, the good ol' days!
