Me and my husband, Tim, arrived at the park around 10:30am. Took a couple of pix with my favorite decoration---the demon on the roof above the Ticket Booths (I think he's sexy!). The Midway Monsters were hanging out between the Ticket Booths and the Entrance Gates, so we got a few pix with them as well. Since we were not resort guests, we had time to look over and read (tombstones) the displays and check out the gift shoppes.
Once the barriers were opened, we headed to Millennium Force. We rode it 2x, the first time in any random seat--10 minute wait, the second time we waited for the front----about 20-25 minutes 'cuz someone in back tossed their cookies and the crew had to clean it up. Ewwww! We then rode Iron Dragon 2x and the Power Tower both ways. We got in line for Happy Jack's Toy Factory for about a 10 minute wait. I am scared of clowns and dolls, so this was not for me, but I made it through! We went to G.A. Boeklings Eerie Estate for a 10 minute wait. I have to say that both houses were done extremely well (from what I could see when my eyes were open!), it felt like we were in there a long time. There was a lot to look at to distract you from just watching/waiting for the "scare-actors." Awesome job!
Lunch time with corn dogs, Hot Potato fries and pop. So healthy! :) Then we rode the Blue Streak 2x (to get a look at the Raptor line), and the Raptor 2x. We had to get a ride on the Demon Drop---this was Tim's first and last ride ever on the Demon Drop, he didn't like it. Then we rode Calypso, Cedar Downs, Matterhorn, and Scrambler. Tim wanted to watch the parade so we did. I was surprised that it came down in the direction that it did. Last year, we stood near the Scrambler and it came from the back of the park to the front. On Sunday, we were standing near the Corkscrew and the parade came from the front to the back. Afterwards, we rode Magnum (my favorite), Witches Wheel and Mean Streak. Ok, I admit that the Mean Streak is rough, but Tim said he is NEVER going on it EVER again! (crybaby)
We shared Macho Nachos (best deal in the park) and then we rode the Train. Tim wanted pizza and I wanted ice cream (2 scoops (she really loaded it up---more like 4) of Toft's Caveman Chocolate in a waffle cone......YUM! I know it's overpriced in the park, but we didn't have time to visit Toft's Ice Cream Parlor this trip, and I needed my fix!
I then rode the Wicked Twister 2x and the MaxAir. We both rode the Carousel (in KiddyLand). Tim wanted to take a slow walk through Frontiertown and we took some pix. Then I rode Skyhawk and we rode Gemini. I finished off my visit with a ride on Magnum.
We didn't ride Maverick because the line was over a 1 hour wait, and I didn't ride TTD because it wasn't running when we passed by.
All in all, it was a very nice visit, with light crowds and the weather was absolutely beautiful---a perfect fall day. I am hoping for the same crowds when we return in late August 2010. My only gripe (which has nothing to do with the park) was that we stayed at the Best Budget on Cleveland Avenue when we came into town Saturday night. It was musty and dirty. Beware!
