I am going today, but not til 4:00pm. The Rain will be gone. When the weather is bad I go to the Live Shows. On nice days I will Ride the Thrill Rides & the Roller Coasters. The temp. doesn't bother me at all.
I'm about the same driving distance as you Akron/Canton residents, here in Canfield. I may be there next Sunday afternoon.
I just got back from the park. An admissions employee said there were around 50 guests inside. Judging from the cars in the parking lot, that number may be pretty accurate. The following rides were open: Mine ride, corkscrew, super himalaya, and CPLE RR. I live 10 minutes from the park so it was a nice, realaxing (and somewhat wet) stroll through the park.
I remember one night during Halloweekends last season when only about 50 people were there. Even though just about every ride was closed, with the haunts (indoor) still open it was a great trip to the park. I wish it happened more often but with better weather, but I think its safe to say that will never happen. Assuming you have a pass and it isn't your only trip to the park, days like this don't turn out to be that bad.
Just made it back home to Birch Run, MI. Never seen a day that bad in all my trips to the park since the early 90s. I drove into the park on the road next to the shore, Cedar Point Dr and the water ripping over the rock buffer was insane! Almost look like a hurricane moving in...borderline scary.
From what I've been reading, the park was giving return passes today. When they do that, it must've been very bad

Just got back home from the park. A strong Nor'easter hit over night. Lake level is crazy high, only went from the marina to Midway Market today. The only rides I saw open were Cedar Downs and the train.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
Kudos to the park for giving return passes to folks who braved actually coming out today. I hope Tontobacon got some for his family!
Promoter of fog.
Has the park ever closed or not opened due to extreme weather? I'm sure the park took a hit today after they paid all their employees and gave those return passes, but that was the right thing to do. This weather today was very unusual and a fluke.

The BBQ event on Friday was so awesome!
15 tickets gives you choice of 15 4oz beer samples and/or 15 small plates of bbq. You can get 10 beers, 5 small plates, or any choice you'd like.
The beer was awesome, the the BBQ was great! For $20 you can't come close to beating it. It was basically $3 per craft beer 12 oz!

Here is some pictures from the beach, near the Rotunda a few hours ago. Also, yes it was a very bad day at the park. It was miserable! There were also trash cans blowing around the Breakers Parking Lot, the lids were blowing off, and a few hit some cars.

Now I think they aren't working because they are in your Yahoo mail account. It says access denied when I click the links.
