Ive planned a long distance road trip from Midwest to the east and one of the stops is Cedar Point on Sunday May 31st. We purchased fast lane plus, knowing that we're not going to have many opportunities to be at Cedar Point in our lives and would like to ride everything we want at least a couple times. Forecast says 100% chance of rain. Cedar point's website says no rain checks and when I purchased the fast lane, it said it was final.
Has anyone had any luck requesting to change preordered tickets/fastlanes to a different day. We were talking about hitting cedar point on the way back on our trip, rather than on the way out because of tomorrow's rain.
I wish I could help you with the refund question but even if you have to eat the cost I would still reschedule as going to the park tomorrow would be a complete waste of time. Rain won't be your biggest problem, the wind forecast for tomorrow makes it look like basically everything will be closed (including every "major" coaster except for Maverick and Rougarou).
If you can't get a date change, go anyhow. That would be a huge waste of money. Even if rain and wind become an issue, many things will still be running. I wouldn't waste the money avoiding a bad day at the park. We are planning on going tomorrow regardless. Some of my best days at CP were when the forecast was dismal but it turned out OK with short waits for all but Maverick. On the other hand, some days were pretty much a bust, but with a Platinum Pass, I can take a chance and bail. One rainy morning this May we rode Millennium 7x in a row starting at 930 am. The gate to the loading platform was open and we stepped right back on the train we just got off. The weather cleared and everything was open by noon. However, if the winds stay gusty some of the rides may be closed. We went last week and it was pretty windy. Gatekeeper, Raptor, Power Tower and TTD were closed and stayed closed all day. Even Magnum was down for a while, but we did get a ride later in the day when it opened. Millie, Rougarou, WT, MS, BS, CS, ID, Maverick, CCMR, Gemini, Magnum, WR, and WS were open, at least when I was near enough to notice. A bad day in the park beats a good day in the office every time. Let us know how things turn out. Enjoy! :-)

It's not until about 20MPH winds when it becomes a problem.
I'm planning to go tomorrow, but I'm on the fence now. It looks like it's going to rain pretty much all day and with a half to 3/4 inch of rain. I'll just check the weather in the morning. If it looks like an all-day rain, I'll probably stay home. Tomorrow looks like one of those days where most rides would be closed all day. The web cams are down now and that would help so I can see what's running. I wanted to go for the Brew & BBQ, but I'm not driving 2 hours just for that.

I wish I could articulate exactly how much I HATE this saying.
It's a fine example of a fallacy used in an argument.
It completely leaves out the chance that the bad day at the park could have been a good day somewhere else, implying that the office was the only alternative.
I just made the decision not to go today. The radar isn't as promising as a I thought and the rain appears to be moving slower than I thought. On top of that, it says 27MPH winds with gusts to 41MPH and throw in temps in the mid 50's. Just 2 hours away over by Akron and Canton, the sun is out and the wind isn't blowing. Today sounds like it would be a miserable day to be at the park. I really wanted to go for the Brew & BBQ, but I'm not driving 2 hours just for that. I hope they repeat it for 4th of July or Labor Day weekend.
Edit: The BBQ ended up being cancelled anyway, the park just posted that on their Facebook page.

I have to say, I do feel for you. I just cringe whenever I think about someone purchasing something like Fast Lane plus in advance, especially for a day in May and the roll of the dice with the weather.
We were also planning on coming up today through Wednesday, but we've actually pushed everything up until Tuesday since tomorrow also looks like a "not so nice" (relatively speaking) day at the park (mainly the winds). Thabto, you went to Mount Union, yes? We're here in Louisville, OH fairly close to you.
My best advice? Bring your kids to customer service and beg. Just an unfortunate turn of events, but hopefully you were able to make the most of it regardless.
Castaway Bay, possibly? That's where we would be!
