My second trip to the Point for the season ended up being even better than the first.
We walked (didn't run) straight to Millenium at ten. Waited just 20 minutes total for the front. I love hitting Skyhawk in the morning due to really short lines. Walked on the first ride, got off, circled around and got on the next cycle. We could have ridden it three times in a row but decided to hit up other rides in the back while it was so empty.
Walked on Gemini and Magnum and headed back to the front to catch Dragster, which was just opening around 11:00.
Dragster was the longest wait of the day. Could have been on in an hour but we wanted the front seat. It went down for mechanical issues while we were two trains away, which was frustrating, It was back up within 10 minutes, we got our amazing front-seat ride (the first time for me!) and then waited just outside the unloading platform, still locked in the train as it went down again. This time for 35 minutes. I wasn't thrilled about sitting in the sun for that long, but it felt good after being in the wind tunnel (the station) for about half an hour.
I have a blood sugar disorder and it was past time to eat, so we went out to the car for lunch so that I didn't run the risk of passing out on any rides. I figured that would qualify as a risky health situation and didn't want to spend my time in the first aid station.
The park got more and more crowded as the day went on. We got luck with a 25 minute wait for the front of Raptor around 2:45. Waited three trains for WT then started noticing much longer lines. We decided to spend the time wiating for Millie but noticed the train stuck on the lift hill. We waited by the entrance to the queues for about ten minutes but the line was still about 45 minutes long even after many people got out of it, so we headed back to Skyhawk thinking we'd only have to wait 15 or 20 minutes. I was very wrong the line was full. Since the sky looked to be darkening we played it safe, went on Wave Swinger for the fun of it, admired Maverick's station (avoided the temptation to go sit in the test seat) and caught some more rides on Gemini and Magnum.
We noticed that they had begun to fill the pools at Soak City, which was kind of exciting since they'd been empty that morning.
We hit a few shops on the way out, wishing that the nice hooded sweatshirts weren't quite so expenisve and decided to leave since we'd ridden everything we wanted and it was starting to cool off. The wind off the lake was pretty cold when the temp was only 55.
We really had a great day and look forward to making many more trips this summer. The season is off to a great start!
