Sunday, August 12th

I live in Toledo, and had planned on going to the park last Sunday, but because of the all day rain, decided it might be better to wait a week. We set off to a cloudy/post-rain morning, and the weather report said there was a chance of rain in the afternoon. So things were looking better than the previous Sunday, but not by much.

We got to the park a little after 10am, I make at least one trip to CP every year, but my cousin, aunt, uncle and my dad hadn't been to the park in a while. We started off by taking a ride on dragster. The wait was only about 35 mins, so things were looking good for the day. The ride is great, I love the front seat, but can't always wait the extra 15 to 30 mins. My dad and cousin did end up waiting for the front, and while they did, the rest of us went on corkscrew. That airtime hill after the first drop is as good as Mavricks'.

After they got off TTD, we headed over to Magnum where we ended up waiting about 20mins to ride. This was the longest I had waiting in years. I normally try to come only during the weekdays, so I wasn't used to waiting, but it is worth it for magnum. After Magnum, we wanted to head over to Mavrick and see how long the wait was, but some of the people in our group wanted to go on Gemini first. When we got to Gemini, they were just running empty trains, we waited for about 10mins to see if they would open up, but they didn't and we decided to move on. I don't know what the deal was, they had people in the station like they had been running the ride, but at the moment we came over they weren't letting people into line, or on the trains.

We then headed over to Mavrick and waited over and hour and a half. I had been on Mavrick earlier in the year and knew how great the ride was, but I played it off as a decent ride that we at least needed to ride. All my family members were asking questions about the ride, and I would answer some of them, but I made sure not to tell them about the tunnel. When we got to the video screen in the line I made sure none of them watched as not to see the launch. After the ride they were all excited, they had loved Mavrick, and thanked me for not telling them about the launch. They told me they just thought the ride was over when we slowed down in the tunnel, and then whoosh!

After Mavrick we decided to grab lunch. I always pack a lunch as I can't stand paying so much for such unhealthy/overpriced food. After lunch around 2:30 till 3:20 we went over to MaxAir and WT. On the way over we checked out raptor's wait, and it was an hour at the time. MaxAir and WT were the same as always, and the part of our group that went on them enjoyed the rides. By this time people were getting tired and Hot. The sign in the front of the park was reading 98 during lunch. So we all decided to ride DT to try and cool down. Well the first two rooms were cool, but everything after that got hotter and hotter and the wait was about 45mins. And when we got of the ride, it felt just as hot outside as it did inside. Also, we all know it, but that themeing is just horrible. And what is the point of selling those 3-D glasses other than to piss people off because they don't do anything(we didn't buy them).

After DT we went over to Blue Streak, which was a walk on. I seem to remember this ride running better that it was today. It seemed slower that the last time I rode it.

Now we wanted to ride Raptor, but on our walk from Blue Streak, we noticed they were running empty trains also. When we got closer, I saw they were cycling the people that were on the ride off, and closing it down. We went to the line to see if they would say anything, and they told us it would be a while and they weren't letting anyone in line. Well lets just say that we didn't end up ever getting on Raptor, because it was closed for the rest of the day. It closed about 4:30 ish

After that disappointing news we rode Mantis. The wait was about 35-40mins, which is much longer than I would normally wait for Mantis, but the cousins wanted to ride. I just don't find this ride fun at all. We then rode the train back to Mean Streak, where I always have to ride in the back row. It isn't named Mean Streak for nothing people. I tried to warn the two others that rode with me that the back was going to be bad, and that they might want to move to the front, but they stayed. I think they wished they had moved by the end of the ride.

After Mean Streak we went on CCMR(5 mins wait), and Sky Hawk(30mins wait). We then walked to MF where we were trying to decide to ride right then or go get some food. The wait was an hour and it was 8:15pm already, so we decided to get on now in hopes that Raptor was open and we could get a ride in before leaving. MF is great, I love the back seat. And the night ride was a blast.

We then headed for the front, hoping that Raptor was going to be open, no luck, so we rode DD and left the park. It was a good day, a little busier than I had hoped for/thought it was going to be, and extremely hot, but a lot of fun.

Nice TR. Sounds like you had a good visit. Too bad you missed Raptor, though.

It's called Millennium Force, not "Millenium" Force. Thanks.
