Stuck on a Coaster?

I was on the lift hill to the mine ride when it stopped for about five minutes. That was... fun.

Favorite "getting stuck" story, not exactly a coaster but once while on the Demon Drop I was stuck on the break path because our car was slowed too much and we ended up stopping too soon before reaching the tire. Staring up the sky for 20 minutes in the hot sun until maintenance came to manually push our car to the tire was not a good way to spend an afternoon, but of course we did get to stay in the car and ride again. This was over 10 years ago when it actually had a decent wait, so overall it was worth it.

Wow, I've never heard about getting stuck on Demon Drop. That would be the worst, but if you think about it, you were practically lying down for 20 mins. Not too bad, I guess, compared to the Mantis. That'd be awful.

Smoking Marijuana isn't a bad thing or even a good one, like everything else, its what you make of it.

I've gotten stuck on the Beast, Vortex, and Flight of Fear. I was waiting for a launch for Flight of Fear and then something happened and they needed to unlock the train and then for some odd reason, the restraints wouldn't unlock. Thank god Flight of Fear is indoors and air conditioned. It took about 20 minutes for maintenance to get there and release it.

On the Vortex, there was someone whose restraints came loose and they stopped the lift. It took about 15 minutes before someone came running up the stairs on the lift and fixed the problem.

With the Beast, there was a major malfunction with the locks. For some reason, the locks were randomly activating going up the hill. So they stopped the lift and we sat there while maintenance came. This took about an hour. It was night so the heat wasn't killing my friend and I.

I am always getting stuck on coasters! Excluding MF & TTD, I have been stuck on about every one at CP! Got walked off Magnum's lift this past Saturday! It was a blast! Too bad we weren't up that high!:(
I've gotten stuck on Mantis for a short period of time cuz some idiot unlatched his seatbelt so they stopped it on the hill and the ride ops came up telling us not to panic. Actually that happened to me twice...

I've also gotten stuck on the first lift hill of Dahlonega Mine Train. I'm still yet to know why I was.

Just this past May I was waiting for Millennium Force and a train stopped just far enough for the entire train to be facing straight up on the lift hill. Not to much later it started pouring down rain! I felt so bad for the people on the ride, but then again I think it would've sucked a lot worse if it started raining when you were going over 70 mph.....ouch....

Last year my mom and I rode Iron Dragon and we got stuck on the 2nd hill. We where stuck there for about 15-20 min. I something was wrong on it, but I dont know what it was.
Only once have i got stuck on the brake run of TTD for a good 20 minutes, seemed longer though considering the stapeled lap bars. But on a saturday in June this year i missed a magnum walkdown by one train.

Opening Weekend this year, my last ride on Magnum before leaving on Sunday (around noon) we started up the lift hill and got to a little under the tree-top level and the train stopped, but only for about 2-3 minutes. It was kinda weird.

I also got stuck at Shivering Timbers on Opening Sunday at MA. My Fiancee and I rode towards the back and went around fine, and when we got back to the station, her lapbar wouldn't release. They kept locking and unlocking the bars but nothing worked. Eventually they had to hand the wrench over to a worker to come down and manually release the lap-bar. It kinda sucked because we missed our pictures in the photo-booth.

It was kinda funny yesterday when I went. This lady and her husband got in line for ST with their kid who they measured and who was a good 3-4 inches short of the minimum. All the way up the ramp the mom is telling the kid to put her chin up and make herself seem taller. Anyway, long story short, the mom was actually suprised when the ops measured her kid and wouldn't let her ride. It was kinda funny just because they knew going up the ramp she probably wouldnt' fit, or at least she should.

Anyway, I'm done.

Only on three coasters, Mamba and the Orient Express at WoF, and the Batman floorless ride at SFWoA. Getting stuck on Mamba is fun, its harder than hell to try to get out off the train when its 175 ft. in the air:). Orient Express was easy to get out of after about 10 min. wait. Batman sucked so much. I was on the block breaks for about 80 min. b/c the floor wouldn't raise.
@ Six Flags St. Louis, got stuck on the front row of Screamin Eagle at the top of the lift. Was there for about 15-20 min. Had a good view of the park.

I was stuck on Thunder caynon the day of the big power outage last year, we went about halfway and didnt get wet at all then noticed that we were slowing down and the water level was slowly dropping, so we all had to walk in about knee high water through the canals where the rafts and go to the inside island where we saw some employees and some equipment that must control the ride. It was very cool actually but the bottom of the river on that ride is very slippery and sick, probably covered with alge.
That sounds really cool, Dubdub. Going behind the scenes and all. I've only been stuck on ID, and for like 5 mins on the first lift.

I guess I wasn't really stuck, but at the start of Magnum's lift hill, the train I was in was stopped because a seat belt in an empty was not fastened. That was a few years ago.

Last month I was on the second train of the morning for TTD and the ride shut down. Both trains left the station and just before the first train was about to be launched it shut down. Both trains were rolled back a little to that maintenance can look at the track (the second train was rolled back into the station..where the first train usually loads). We sat there for about 20 minutes. I enjoyed it, but the guy next to me was complaining about how this was taking up "half the morning". I kept telling him it was worth the wait. He was just whiny about waiting, but once the ride was up and we were launched, the guy was just all happy and laughing. I could have kick his....anyway, after a 'nice' I told you so, met with a silent reaction from him, we got off the ride. It seems that patience is a rare thing now days...everyone has to get what they want right away...Bah!

i seem to have real bad luck when it comes to getting stuck on rides ive been stuck for 30 mins on mantis cuz someone threw up and ive been stuck for an hour on the lift of son of beast and i have been stuck on space mountain at disney or for close to 2 HOURS! then i have been stuck 4 times in the braking section of top thrill and been stuck on the launch after a rollback but that was sweet
It seems like Iron Dragon breaks down almost every day on the first lift hill. Is the motor that powers that thing a piece of crap?

Also, I don't think ID has one of those emergency carts like Raptor and MF. How do you get out? Do you kinda jump?

That's what I was wondering. It seems to me, as well, ID's breakdowns don't count as a true breakdown since it happens a lot.

There's this thing called a staircase next to Iron Dragon's lift. You step out of the train onto your feet, grab the handrail and walk down the stairs into the station.
i got stuck on the wild cat. we were right at the crest of one of the hills and the brakes stoped us very suddenly. of course it had just started to pour and we couldnt walk down the ramp because A)it was to slippery and B)becuase we were to far away from it! i think we were up their for 20-30minutes and were soaked through. after we got off the ride were given front of the line passes:)

how exciting!
