.hey everyone my name is Alexander and I am a major coaster enthusiast and I wanted to how long before CP gets back to you this late in the season for a screamsters position.. Also i was in the circus growing up with my mom who is a professional clown and I learned how to eat fire, you think Cedar Point might be interested in the fire eating? Like for parade or something ya know.. Let me know your thoughts and should I call them on Friday or Saturday ? Or should I wait a couple weeks? Thanks!

It's an automatic email. You need to wait for them to call you. We work weekends as screamsters, as do the people that hire for Screamsters. Sit back, relax, and just keep an eye on that status. We're still getting more Screamsters, you'll get a call, just understand that weekends are our busiest time, and they won't make calls or hire from Friday-Sunday.
I called and asked and they said they are not hiring for the rest of the season for Screamsters because they only have 3 weeks left they said... I am very disappointed because I wanted this job so bad that I would have did it for FREE. If any employee knows people or anything of the sort I would appreciate if you could talk to them and see if there is for sure no positions or if they could make room fir one more please? I don't want any rules broken but it would really make my day if they could find me q position... Any position would be great and fine... If anyone could help me I would appreciate it more than you would ever know..
Thanks again ! Alexander Jones

Sorry that's what they said. If they say they aren't hiring, then there really aren't any more spots for the season. Applications for HalloWeekends 2012 go up in June/July 2012 and the full 2012 season applications go up in January/February 2012.
Good luck next year
what generally happens is they take "overhires" till a point, where say they want 300 people in costume so they hire 450. they have 150 buffer that as people quit, they get called in and offered a job, essentially they are on a wait list. If they said they are done then you're out for this year unfortunately there really isn't a way around it. Either because they still have some extra to work through or they won't have more training and what not so as numbers fall off they don't get replaced. that tends to happen, it gets tough.

Just an FYI, if you're working as a ride op next summer, there's very little chance that you'll be able to be a Screamster. The only positions I know of that sometimes allow you to switch to Screamsters at the end of the season are lifeguards, and on occasion, Challenge Park.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun

You could get away with it by having your ride op contract through labor day weekend then come back and process back in as a screamster at the start of halloweekends
GO IRISH!!
You'll want to make sure you have in it your contract and be careful because they won't let you process back in as a screamster instead of a ride op if you just process out at your contract end date. It HAS to be in your contract.
I've had a few friends who have tried to do that and usually get turned down. If you come back after the end of your contract, your original department still has dibs on you. One friend was allowed to make the switch, but that's mostly because he'd already been a Screamster for a year or two before starting in rides.
