- Heatstroke caused the death of an employee at Six Flags Worlds of Adventure Tuesday, but he was more susceptible to high temperatures because he had heart bypass surgery several years ago, said Cuyahoga County Coroner Dr. Elizabeth Balraj.

"When the hyperthermia places stress on the body, it places stress on almost every organ," she said. The situation becomes complex and if the heart cannot handle the stress, it will stop.

The employee, Ronald Gabbard, 59, of Cleveland, was developmentally disabled. He lived in a local group home, said Debbie Nauser, spokeswoman for Six Flags Inc. in Oklahoma City.
