I'm going to apply for ride host but I'm still a senior in high school. How is that going to work but because last year I was still in school when I processing in and training. So if anyone could help that would be great.
Thanks

as long as you graduated from high school and you are turning 18 over the summer you can be a ride host, we had that situation with someone on our crew this summer

Yeah I'm 18 now. I just didn't know how the training was going to work out. I didn't know if I would work part-time on the weekends before school is out or what.

You will do your online training 30 days before you graduate and you will do your ride specific training once you start. I believe the only ride you can work before then is CP&LE Railroad because you are not directly responsible for guest safety. In other words, you aren't checking lap bars or seatbelts or operating heavy machinery.
As always, check with a rides manager for the most accurate information and policies.
In rides, typically your contract doesn't start until you start full time. So, after you graduate, and your contract starts, some training will take place the day your process in, and the rest on your first day of work at your ride location.
The CP&LE RR thing that RidePhoto was referring to is actually in regards to 17 year-olds, and not the training you've had. You will have all divisional and ride specific training before you start work at any attraction.
Most of the online training consists of Rules and Regulations of becoming an Employee....It will cover grooming guidelines, housing etiquette, dealing with guests, the process of processing in, benefits, alcohol rules, etc.
I'm too sexy for my harness!
You go one a program that teaches you the basic guildlines. They are not designed for specific departments. You go through each section and after you have to pass a test.
Last year I asked about starting weekends but I was told they don't train on weekends.

I worked with a girl that failed the online training, twice.
By the way, the online training test is "open book" meaning you can refer to the stuff you read for training while you take the test.
I worked with and had several employees as a TL that started on weekends only on a ride before they graduated (as long as they are 18). The only problem is getting to the Point prior to graduation for the weekends. Ole 99'er was one of them by the way...

Well I live 1 hour so thats how I did it last year so the weekends wouldnt be bad.

Being a first year employee is it possible to request working on a coaster if I have previous experience working on a ride at a previous job?
It never hurts to ask if you want a specific ride, but there are no guarantees. Even after you get your contract your ride location is subject to change. The only guarantee is what division you are contracted to. Other than that, it is strictly on an as-needed basis. If one location has 5 people quit and is short staffed, they need to fill those positions with either existing employees or more than likely the next new employees to process in for that division.
